Mrs. Vogt was my daughters 4th grade homeroom teacher and she looked forward to going to school every single day to see Mrs. Vogt. She didn't want to leave 4th grade because she loved her so much! Mrs. Vogt goes above and beyond her teaching job to give her students the best education possible in the most fun ways always with a smile and positive attitude! I sometimes wondered if she lived at the school because she was at every single school event. Even after a long day of teaching, she'd still be there for an event & even stacking chairs or vacumming up the students mess. I wish I had the energy she has day in and day out! My daughter wants to be a 4th grade teacher when she grows up, thanks to the wonderful influence of Mrs. Vogt!

Jessie's passion and dedication to the job can't be beat! She challenges herself to connect with every student and will go above and beyond to ensure a student is learning. Jessie is the very teacher that you will even see outside the classroom at school events, helping her PTA, and in the community. Jessie has never questioned that this was the career for her and it's evident that this isn't just a job, it's her passion.

Jessie is always willing to go above and beyond for anything she does:) She is involved in everything from her family, to activities and scout master for her boys, PTA, Church, Jazzercise instructor, to all the events that go on at Asbury. I do wonder where she gets all her energy from, but she puts it all to good use!!!! She is an awesome friend and loved by all!!

Jessie is a life changer in many ways. Jessie is my teaching partner and helps all students and teachers. She is the definition of teamwork. If you you need something, somehow she finds time to get it done. She adapts her classroom with flexible seating and adaptations on lessons to include all children and allow the feeling of success. She is on the PTA as well and runs a number of committees including our school reading night, homecoming float and wellness nights to list a few. Every student loves her and feels loved back. I'm honored to work with her and feel she is more than deserving of this special title. Jessie Vogt is a life changer to everyone she works with and teaches!

Mrs. Vogt is an energetic, fun, and caring teacher! I worked with Mrs. Vogt over the past few year as a parent volunteer with PTA and she was always willing to help out and be involved in some way. I just love her! My son had her for a teacher this year and only had positive things to say about her. He especially loved the fact she had flexible seating in her classroom! She had creative ways of teaching the students that made learning more interesting to him. We moved to another city recently so we miss Mrs. Vogt very much.

I have had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Vogt as a parent volunteer. As a PTA board member, we always know we can count on Mrs. Vogt to bring her amazing energy to every school event. She has a family of her own but she always makes the time for her asbury family as well. She is always there greeting families and students or grabbing a vacuum at the end of an event to help clean up, even though she has been at school since 8am.. We are grateful as a PTA that she is always there to support us. We have also been fortunate to have the opportunity to have Mrs. Vogt as our daughter's ELA teacher. Mrs. Vogt went above and beyond to identify our daughter's unique needs that I feel would have been overlooked by an average effort educator. Mrs. Vogt outlined her plan to get our daughter to our goal and truly cares about each and every student. I truly believe Mrs. Vogt is an educator who changes and impacts students for the better! What she feels is just doing her job is what makes her students better students and makes our school an exceptional place to get an education!

Jessie is a very active teacher. If the school or PTA ask for a volunteer she always steps up to help. As a little girl she was always helping any child that needed help. In high school she volunteered to teach girls to play soft ball. Teaching is in her blood.

Jessie is on if the most dynamic, amazing people I know. Her energy and passion for what she does is awesome. She is always positive, which is why she has such a profound effect on not only the children she teaches. But on everyone around her. Not only do I know her as a teacher, but she recently decided to become a Jazzercise instructor . She was an instant favorite! She gives 100% in everything she does and it shows. She is definitely exemplifies someone who changes lives!

Mrs. Vogt is a wonderful example of the qualities of this nomination! My son is in her class and comes home each day talking about the day and his experiences. He enjoys the class interaction and the learning experience is fun and enjoyable. The most notable change I have seen is that while my son is a relatively good student and generally "gets it", he is not "left behind". Mrs. Vogt is further challenging him and encouraging him to do more and do it better. For the first time ever, he wants to work harder/take on more responsibility because Mrs. Vogt will be "proud of him". This is the sign of a great teacher. Further, as a working mother who has taken the time to be part of the holiday events, I have witnessed Mrs. Vogt's command of her classroom and the respect of her students. She is proactive with communications to the parents and realistic with the students when their family obstacles are thrown her way. Her love of life is contagious in her classroom activities, her emails and communications to parents. she has really taken on a holistic approach to her teaching. Congratulations to Mrs. Vogt for this nomination!

Mrs Vogt is my sons 4th grade teacher. She has been an incredible blessing to our family. My son has always complained about school being too long, too boring, and lonely. He has struggled academically and socially for years. This year has been a whole different experience for us. Mrs. Vogt has created a love of learning in my son. She was able to take his extrememely competitive personality and filter that into productivity. He is excelling this year. He is thriving! No longer does he complain and cry when it’s time for school. I attribute this success to his wonderful teacher. She has found specific methods that appeal to each student to help them succeed. She goes above and beyond. I had the opportunity to assist her when she hosted a veterans lunch for the grade. I appreciate that my son gets to be a part of moments like that, moments that aren’t typical in a public school setting but are unforgettable. Thank you Mrs Vogt for the love and patience that you show my son every day. Thank you for teaching him how to cooperate with others and be a team member. Thank you for praising him and giving him confidence!!

Mrs. Vogt is a mentor of mine! I am a senior at McDowell Highschool and was welcomed as an intern in her classroom this year. Her classroom was not only a place where her students could learn and grow but a place I was excited to learn in as well. She taught me the daily tasks of her job, how to be a pro-active teacher and how to love what you do in life. I was also one of Mrs. Vogt’s 5th grade students, I always admired how much she cared for her students and did everything in her power for them to succeed. Whether, it be staying after school with that student or even taking her lunch and working with them. She has truly shaped me as a student, person and a future teacher. Thank you Mrs. Vogt!

I was Jessie’s cooperating teacher many years ago as she began her student teaching. I knew from the moment she walked into my first grade classroom that she was someone special. Right away she made a connection with the students and she always went above and beyond to meet all of their needs. I’ve followed her professional journey as an educator and she certainly exemplifies what it means to love what you do and do what you love! I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this honor!!

Mrs. Vogt had been a favorite teacher of our entire family! She is innovative, fun and clearly cares for her students. Both of my children loved learning from her and have stayed connected long after being in her class. She is the measuring stick for a great teacher in our experience. She absolutely deserves to be recognized.

Katie Jobczynski Posted over a year ago

I had the privilege of being Jessie’s student teacher her first year at Asbury. During my time with her I learned how to merge humor with academics in a way to engage students. Jessie shows compassion and understanding for all of her students and consistently invited the students from the Life Skills classroom to work with her homeroom. She made her classroom a warm and safe place for students to explore and occasionally fail, but come out stronger for it. Any student who walks through the door of Jessie’s classroom is sure to feel loved! I consider myself blessed for being able to learn from her.

Lifechanger... the title aptly describes Jessie Vogt. My twin daughters had the great fortune to have her as their 4th grade teacher. She is positivity exemplified! She takes the time to really know each student as an individual and provides a support system to ensure their success. My one daughter has a severe nut allergy- Mrs. Vogt made a point to have all activities be inclusive, an act of kindness as much as a commitment to her safety. Mrs. Vogt is the champion cheerleader... she is known to say to a struggling student, “I know you know this... you got it. Take your time.” She encourages her colleagues to participate in student and staff team-building initiatives and her contagious spirit entices even the most reluctant. Always a professional, a valued leader, and the ability to positively impact a child. One of my children recently said, “If you win the lottery, could we hire Mrs. Vogt to homeschool me?” My daughters are now in 6th grade and at a different school, but just hearing Mrs. Vogt’s name invokes immediate smiles and memories of the great year and the teacher that made it happen.
