Pamela Dubose was nominated by her principal and fellow LifeChanger nominee, Dr. Durand Payton.

Mrs. Dubose has graciously served as a math instructor for the Moss Point School District for over 10 years. She has helped middle school and high school students, including students in alternative placements. She is a pillar of the community, and has been active and vocal concerning education. Mrs. Dubose puts the needs of students ahead of her own needs. She has been known to donate food from her small, family owned restaurant, Dub’s Eatery.

Mrs. Dubose is one of the best examples of child advocacy. On any given day, you can find children camped out in her class for tutoring in subject areas ranging from algebra to calculus. Somehow, she still manages to get her own assignments and duties completed, even though she is being pulled in many different directions. She is committed to producing a nurturing atmosphere for students. Because of her infectious smile and friendly demeanor, she is loved by students, co-workers, as well as her community.

"It is my pleasure to nominate Pamela Dubose for the LifeChanger of the Year award," Payton said. "At heart, she is an advocate for children and speaks up about what can be done in the community to help students triumph.

I know Mrs. Pamela Dubose quite well! We grew up together ~ she's my sister! I know first-hand how hard she works! She genuinely cares for her students and for their futures~ Every career decision that she's ever made has been about what felt right to her in that moment! What she was drawn to, what she wanted to learn more about, what she wanted to believe in, while she developed skills, which meant that her career hasn't been linear. This has shaped her into the perfect LIFE CHANGER!! Now that she's planted herself in this field, she makes a point of aligning her intentions with her mission daily, to make sure she's serving, learning, and helping to mold her students to reach their full potentials!! We are all blessed to have her working so diligently for the students of Moss Point Career and Development Center! Patrice Pickett Thomas

I have known Pam for almost 30 years. I have not been priviledged to have her teach my kids in an academic setting. However I have witnessed her "teaching" kids for 30 years. Her role as a mother of 4 exemplifies raise a child up....! She teaches her childern to be kind, to be free thinkers, to value others, and to love the Lord. Her children turned out to be excellent role models for their peers. As a member of the same church, Pam displayed her "teaching" skills to our Youth Deoartment. She willing heads up programs for youth and she keeps them active and excited about coming to church. Pam has been a Coach/Faciitator for our annual Church Camp for over 30 years. Each years she voluntarily leaves her home to go to "Church Camp" as an Facilitator. During these 30 odd years there are docimented pictures, and videos of Pam teaching arts and crafts, teaching dance lessons and teaching Bible Lessons to hundreds of Youth from across the country. The thread that runs through each picture is her genuine love of kids. Pamela Pickett Dubose is a deserving person to receive this acknowledgement!

Mrs. DuBose has helped me and several of my classmates figure out what college we want to attend and has given us great steps on how to apply and she has also been a great tutor to those who needed help in certain subjects which gave them a boost to pass that class.

I'm so excited that Pamela has been nominated for this award. She is an excellent teacher who exemplifies her love for her students in numerous ways. Mrs. Dubose sponsors the Mr. and Miss MPHS, pageant. She makes sure that as many students as possible are involved in the production. Students who rarely participate in school activities are eager to join in the festivities because of Mrs. Dubose. She has that special 'touch' with people. I hope she gets the award. She is so deserving.
