Lisa Bulluck's nominator wishes to remain anonymous.

As the district instructional coach, Ms. Bulluck believes that all children can be successful when you understand their individual learning styles. She constantly shows teachers different ways to teach the same topic to their students.

"When you first meet Ms. Bulluck, she might seem to have a tough exterior. However, when you get to know her, and it doesn't take long, you'll understand that she is just a teddy bear at heart," the nominator said. "

The nominator met Ms. Bulluck the 2nd semester of her junior year.

"I saw how she personally tutored a senior football player and helped him achieve his dream of playing college football," the nominator said. "I watched how she helped a female student gain confidence in reading aloud in class because she was being picked on, and I saw how she was a tough disciplinarian when she needed to be. I spoke to her one day, and she said to me, 'Good morning Ms. College bound.' When I asked why she said that, she answered by saying, 'By the time I am done assisting you with your classwork, you will be college bound with scholarships in hand.'"

The nominator graduated in June 2018 with scholarships from several universities. From then on, Ms. Bulluck checked in with her daily to make sure she wasn't having difficulties in her classes and was carrying herself as a young person should. Ms. Bulluck was constantly meeting with teachers and modeling lessons that were fun and engaging.

"Often times, we did not even know we were learning," the nominator said. "Ms. Bulluck is tall in stature, but very quiet and humble. I am pleased that our paths crossed during my high school career. She is the type of individual that children and adults seek assistance and advice from."

No matter what the issue may be, Ms. Bulluck tries her best to help. She even uses her personal time and money to make sure the young minds of today are career and college ready.

"Because of Ms. Bulluck, I feel I will go to college and be a success," the nominator said. "I want to thank her for all of her hard work and determination to see students succeed. I will never forget her!"

I'm new to the school and the school system. As one might imagine, I have had, and still have, many questions about the school, procedures, daily functions, and just about everything. Since joining the school team in August, Ms. Bulluck has become one of my "go-to's". She always takes the time to answer my questions, and to give me guidance and feedback. I've watched her do the same with other new staff, with the teachers and definitely with the students. I support Ms. Bulluck's nomination as a Life Changer.......on a daily basis, she has a positive impact on the students, always going above and beyond to improve the education and lives of the students here, and she certainly has made my adjustment and transition to the school a lot smoother! CONGRATULATIONS MS. BULLUCK and THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!

Ms Bulluck is very passionate about students and the classroom environment. She see students/teachers in need and reaches out to ensure that barriers can be removed so that they can reach their full potential. Well deserving to an individual that leads with heart and passion in the education realm.

I have seen my mother make changes in student's lives since she was a coach at Nash Central Middle over a decade ago. As she evolved throughout her education career, she's seen many of her students as adults and they always express to her about how much she has helped them in life after she's taught them. Some of them have had children that also have been taught by my other. While they all say she's tough, they also say she is fair. Making sure the students are at their best not only in the classroom, but also in life, the changes that each student experience are all different but always beneficial. I am proud to see that my mother has been nominated for this award and as one of her biggest supporters, I know that she will continue to impact many students lives well into their adulthood. So on behalf of the students she's taught over the years. Thank you mother for continuing to change so many lives.

My daughter, Lisa Bulluck, is a teacher from her heart. She loves her students and knows how to put them at ease so that she can reach them. She interacts with them as if they were her very own. Her love and passion for encouraging them is very evident. It is so rewarding when we are out and her former students come up to give her a hug and to let her know what they are doing. Lisa is a LifeChanger. She aspires to be a principal so she can be even more involved in life changing decisions for our young people. Lisa is an encourager and sends out words of inspiration every morning. She cares deeply about our young people and works hard to provide them with knowledge so that they have tools to make good choices.

Lisa has always had a heart for young people. Her desire to help them succeed was evident long before she became an educator. She goes above and beyond to ensure her students have the tools they need to become successful. She has many young people call her "mama" because of the bond she has formed with them over the years. The love, support, financial, emotional, and educational investment she has poured into her students have been an integral part in helping her students be prepared to become productive citizens in the classroom, workplace and beyond.

I am so excited and proud that my sister, Lisa Bulluck, has been nominated for the lifechanger of the year award! The name of the award itself speaks to what Lisa has done in the lives of so many children, to include my own. Lisa challenges children to think higher and she pushes parents to make sure they are not the ones that are standing in the way of their child reaching their greatest potential. That's one of the biggest traits Lisa has that in my opinion separates her from all others...she doesn't just focus on the child - she focuses on the family unit. She ensures the parents know where to find resources that will help their child and help them. Many educators don't value the importance of engaging the parents in developing the plan for the student's success - Lisa does.

I recently met Lisa Bulluck through the school system for which I am affiliated and we immediately became friends as well as colleagues. Your first impression of her is the best impression. She comes to our district with a wealth of knowledge in all content and supervisory areas. Her educational repertoire extends across all grade levels as well as all content areas. She is physically tall, yet educationally tall. I immediately bonded with her because we have similar ideas and passions regarding the education of children. Thanks for showing up in our district for our young people. Keep making that everlasting impression upon us all. We love and appreciate her!

I have known Lisa for over 18 years and she has always had a passion for students excelling towards excellence. I know Lisa on a personal and professional level and I m here to tell you that no matter the situation she is always willing to lend a helping hand. Just to give you a little sample of how amazing Mrs. Bullock is, I can remember when my daughter was in the 4th grade and was having difficulty grasping her studies. Without hesitation Lisa told me to start bringing to her house ever evening and she would be honored to tutor her. I’m telling you my daughter passed her grade that year with flying colors. Lisa is a fighter and I have witnessed that first hand with personal situations that have arose in her life. When she was down she always came up swinging. Lisa never gave up when things were on a down spiral and she has the same attitude when it comes to her students. Congratulations on your success

Lisa is a cousin and a friend but most of all an inspiration to all that have met her. I am always amazed at the many students who make their way over to speak when we are out at the mall or at restaurants. They get excited telling her what they have accomplished, what they are currently doing, and how she played a part in their success. Not only have I seen Lisa be a lifechanger of the year but for the students and kids that crossed her path, she is a lifechanger of a lifetime.

Lisa will be an excellent example of a Lifechanger. During our family reunion last year, Lisa was among the group who visited the National Museum of African American History and Culture, in Washington, DC. While at the Museum, Lisa expressed her desire to obtain as much information to take back to the children at her school. Her focus during this visit was not on her but on her students to receive material to enrich their lives. I thought this was very admirable of her. But that is just who Lisa is, thinking of her students before thinking of herself.

Latishea Posted over a year ago

Lisa is a valuable asset to any team. She is honest, dependable, and incredibly hard-working. Beyond that, she is an impressive leader who is always willing to give of herself unconditionally.

Ms. Bulluck is an awesome individual. Ms. Bulluck is my favorite teacher and now we work in the same district. I know her as Mrs.Brown she was my 8th Grade teacher that pushed not only me but all of us that were in her 4th block class to be the best that we could be. She not only helped and guided me in school but whenever I needed someone to talk to she was there. She was always there to give anyone a smile especially me. Ms.Bulluck is so humble and really enjoy working with students. She is great at what she do. I am grateful that she was apart of me becoming who I am today. She was the start of my future and I can say if it wasn't for her I would not be where I am today. After all these years of being out of school I will never forget Ms.Bulluck, she strives to make sure that any student that she comes in contact with be the best that he/she can be. I want to thank her for all the hard work that she has done and is doing for student.
