Kelsey Hardy was nominated by a colleague who wished to remain anonymous.
Mrs. Hardy makes a difference in the lives of children every day. She builds positive relationships with students and parents to ensure the success of every student in her class. Mrs. Hardy never gives up on children, and she provides intensive interventions to students who are struggling with reading or math. Not only does she make a difference in the lives of her second graders, but she is the coach for the high school cheerleading team, as well.
Mrs. Hardy has organized Muffins for Moms for parents and children in the school. She also helped plan Family Reading Night. Mrs. Hardy plans incentives for students who have achieved their school goals. She has obtained the A+ Reading and A+ Math certification, making her a model classroom for the school and district. Mrs. Hardy is a member of the school district's curriculum council as the second grade representative. She also develops professional development workshops and teaches teachers in the district the strategies that work in her classroom. Mrs. Hardy is currently pursuing her National Board Certification.
"She is a positive mentor for new teachers. She puts new teachers at ease with her positive outlook and willingness to help," the nominator said. "We are so lucky to have Mrs. Hardy at GES."
