Sharanda Keith was nominated by an anonymous colleague.
Ms. Keith is currently in her second year as the counselor at Bowdon Elementary School. She is passionate about children, and it shows in everything that she does. On a daily basis, she makes a difference in the lives of students through her intentional interactions with them throughout the school day, as well as after school, when she works with children in sports. She has built relationships with students and continues to build those relationships as she helps them work through day to day tasks at school or struggles at home or school.
She positively impacts her school climate through her mindfulness of others. When adults become frustrated, she is quick to remind them of the struggles some of the students have at home and at school. She is that constant compass keeping the staff focused on helping students. Her leadership within the school extends to students, teachers, and parents. he leads students in service projects to help organizations that help others. She leads teachers through working with them through situations that arise in their classroom. In addition, she celebrates the success of students with parents through the Pride PTO Programs.
Ms. Keith keeps professionalism at the front of everything she does. She's a great role model to adults and students alike. Her adherence to high moral and ethical standards helps her rise above others, and she takes a lead to encourage this in others, as well.
