Yvonnceria Sutton was nominated by an anonymous member of her community.
Ms. Sutton is a leader who has developed an empowering school atmosphere. Although some might see her as just a lunch lady, she is an educator and LifeChanger in her community. She has worked in Guilford County Schools for over 30 years and has fed children in communities across North Carolina for over twenty years. She started Lunch and Learn in 1995 and provided meals and summer activities for the youth. Afterwards, she partnered with Reading is Fundamental and provided bagged lunches and books to children in various communities.
Over the past five years, Ms. Sutton has implemented FEED (Food Enrichment and Education Daily) the Need by using books from FirstBook Marketplace and healthy meals, fresh fruits and vegetables through Share the Harvest. She has done a lot of work in her community, both during and after school. In Newcomers, she has taught students about Holidays and special days in America. Her school's students are from countries across the world, and Ms. Sutton is the educator who makes sure they understand American holidays. Ms. Sutton work hard to ensure food is handled in a professional atmosphere and is a member of various professional organizations.
