Jennifer Yuhas was nominated by her principal, Hal Gabriel.
Mrs. Yuhas, year after year demonstrates the professionalism of what it takes to be a successful first-grade teacher. She works endlessly to maximize all her students' highest learning potential. She has made multiple strides of reaching even the most challenging students, including those who may have a learning disability. Her positive, yet rigorous approach to teaching has proven to be very effective for all of her students.
Her teaching skills show tremendous leadership both inside and outside of the classroom. She empowers students through positive reinforcement and is very understanding of the importance of discipline. She works very well with all of her colleagues and has a great rapport with school and district administration, as well as the entire school community including parents. Mrs. Yuhas's regularly receives the highest marks in her professional evaluations and her students have regularly scored well on standardized assessments.
Mrs. Yuhas also holds a principal certificate and will someday be a great administrator for the Wilkes-Barre Area School District.
