Kim Assenso was nominated by her friend of 20 years, Anthony Riley.
"Two of Kim's children were raised in my wife's daycare. Kim has always been kind and professional," said Riley. "She has always been someone who strives for excellence. Kim does not accept mediocrity from herself. and she also helps others become excellent by her example."
Mrs. Assenso has been over the education department in the church for about eight years. Her goal is for every child to know there's a winner in each of them, and they should never be afraid to soar. Mrs. Assenso is the mother of three children who have all completed formal education. She has completed formal education with a master's degree in education. She continues to strive for excellence and is currently pursuing a higher degree in education at Oakland University.
"This woman is amazing, as she balances work, family, church and grandmotherhood," said Riley. "This is no easy feat, but she makes it look good."
