Regina Hytower was nominated by an anonymous colleague.

Mrs. Hytower never says no to anyone in need. She exemplifies what it means to "love thy neighbor" every single day, one act of kindness at a time. She forges strong bonds with her students and their families. Mrs. Hytower is not only an active leader in her school by being a major sponsor and contributor of our Black History Assembly, but she's also a leader throughout the community. She is highly pursued as a public speaker to share her educational and social values at community events on her spare time. What Carl Buechner says about Ms. Hytower is genuinely present in her classroom: "They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel."

"It is truly special to have an educator impact and uplift middle school children everyday. I nominate Regina Hytower because she embodies the true spirit of a LifeChanger," said her nominator.

Ms. Hytower exemplifies master teacher but that alone does not fully describe the power and passion behind her work. She finds ways to really KNOW students and genuinely build relationships with them. I see this as the foundation for the work she facilitates with her math students. She is an expert of content in addition to her uncanny ability to convey her passion for understanding math to her students. This transfer ignites the possibilities for student success not only in her classroom but on to other settings.

Mrs. Hytower is the very definition of a life changer!! She is a fabulous teacher that has a heart of gold! I had the pleasure of teaching with her for 6 years and she was the math teacher on my team during my first year transitioning to a middle school teacher. She was not only a friend, but also a mentor. I learned a great deal from her and will always cherish it in my heart. She goes above and beyond in her classroom for her students and treats them as if they were her own children. Always sharing wisdom, she helps to nurture each student that comes into contact with her. Her love and passion is a ripple effect that flows through the halls of the school. She is wonderful and definitely deserves the Lifechanger of the Year Award!

As substitute teacher I loved subbing in your class because your class was respectable, knew how to behave so I could always tell what kind of teacher and person you were, you love the children, you respected them and they respected you and that's a life changer, and it is so needed in the schools and the community, thank you so much for being that LifeChanger for so many people.

I'm very grateful for the one who nominated Regina Hytower as a Life Changer because she is. Not just because she is my daughter but because she has changed so many people lives and not just her students. She goes beyond the classroom. She looks at the students and see their protential. She doesn't stop there. She works with them until they see their potential as well. Also many people don't know this and she does not advertse what she does behind the scene. She has helped many in their time of need and does not boast about it. She does it in secret. I know this because I'm her mother and I see her do these things. She works very hard and work long hours just to make sure she does the best for her students and that they get the best. I have had parents come to me just to express how thankful they are that she helped their child. I was told by one parent that her child struggled with Math until he had her and he learned to love it and did well. It changed his perspective. She just doesn't teach Math. She teaches life skills to her students that they can carry with them after they leave her class. She had even encouraged me and pushed me to go beyond what I thought I could do.

Oh my where do I even began to talk about this woman right here. She is a very dear friend of mine. She is more like a sister to me. She has been there for me through thick and thin. I have been able to confide in her and it remain right there and no further. She always has a smile on her face and help in her hands. She has been a blessing to have in my life. She has been a shoulder for me to cry on and my gut buster to laugh with. She loves what she does as a teacher and helping children is what she does. Regina is the real MVP in my book bc she makes it happen for her family and friends. You whoever you are made a great decision by nominating her because she is exceptional!

I have worked with Mrs. Hytower for the last 6 years. She is a great teacher. But the real reason she should be awarded this honor is because she is an even better person! Her spirit and personality radiates through the classroom which not only helps motivates students in a hard content area but also supports personal growth. When students leave Mrs. Hytower class, they are better students and people. She takes you as you are with no expectations of who you “should” be. I know I am better for knowing her! If you don’t believe me ask the thousands of students in Carrollton,GA whose lives she has touched, personally and academically!
