Sue Anderson was nominated by an anonymous parent of a student.
Ms. Anderson is not only a LifeChanger of the Year, but a Math Changer of a Lifetime. The strategies she implements in the classroom to facilitate the learning process are phenomenal. She brings math to life for the students, and she makes math applicable and relatable to real-world situations. Ms. Anderson’s praise is specific and well-fitting to each student. As a result, her students want to do well because she makes each student feel special and appreciated.
Ms. Anderson is not only a math guru, but an advocate of working with the whole student. She makes time in her day to have one on one conversations with her students. She continuously checks on each student’s social and emotional well-being. Ms. Anderson is well-aware of the fact that students will not be able to focus on her curriculum if other needs besides academics are not being met, so she takes the time to address each student’s needs.
