Ms. Garcia strives to establish and achieve professional goals that strengthen her instructional effectiveness to meet student needs. She advocates for students and focuses attention on their demands and concerns by implementing a range of instructional strategies appropriate to the content areas. She facilitates subject matter to be accessible to all stakeholders. If funds are unavailable, she applies for grants that will create technology-oriented programs and help develop higher-order thinking skills.
Ms. Garcia pursues leadership opportunities, as she actively participates in professional learning communities to organize and improve instructional practices and student learning. She attends and presents at district, regional and state conferences. Ms. Garcia leads other educators at her school by providing professional development in the area of technology. She is Google Level 1 Certified and Microsoft Certified in various Microsoft applications. She is a member of the Texas State Library Archive and Commission committee to align the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards to the Texas Technology Standards. Ms. Garcia and her colleagues develop Breakout Edu lessons and use many technology applications to make learning inspiring.
Mrs. Garcia is one of 16 top district educators to receive the Spirit of PSJA in her area of expertise. She has obtained a Principal Certification and aspires to be an administrator.
