I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Ms. Rumph for the last 8 years. When I met her, it was immediately apparent that she had a passion for educating our youth. I’ve admiringly watched Ms. Rumph continue this passion through several educational opportunities within the school system and her community. I see it completely fitting and deserving for her to be nominated for such a prestigious award. She doesn’t do it for the acknowledgement. She doesn’t do it in hopes of one day receiving accolades. She does it for the love of children and her community. That’s true passion. The seeds that she has planted in these young individuals are growing. She has ensured that these children have received the proper care, to be able to grow no matter where they may be rooted. Her efforts don’t go in vain. Instead, they are cherished and will last over lifetimes. The principles she’s instilling in the youth today will be instilled in future generations of tomorrow. I’m so incredibly proud of her. I know it can’t be easy, but I’m sure it has been worth it. Thank you, Ms. Rumph for already being a Life Changer. We need more like you!

I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Rumph in 2014 as we were both starting our teaching career as middle grades math teachers. We worked together for the Sumter County School System, and after our initial conversation I knew we both shared the same passion and drive for educating our future leaders. To call her dynamic, is really an understatement. The love that permeates her for our great profession and her students is remarkable. I have personally seen her transform into a caring mother figure for her students, a counselor, a nurse, a motivator, a positive redirector of negative behavior, a mentor, and definitely an engaging math teacher that promotes student academic success. The impact that she has on her students’ lives and her colleagues is truly amazing. To know her is to love her, and I’m humbled and blessed to say I have gained a true best friend in Ms. Rumph. I am so thankful that I don’t have to travel this road of being a passionate educator alone. Thankfully, I have her to complete this journey with, and she is definitely deserving of this great honor.

Congratulation Ms. Rumph on your nomination for the 2019-2020 Life Change of the Year Award. Mayo Angelou once stated “when a person shows you who they are believe them the first time.” Rumph has done marvelous things while she was a teacher at Sumter County Intermediate School. I have watched her take blank canvases and created masterpieces of learners. She creates meaningful, engaging lessons that positively empower pupils to become mathematicians as well as teach them lifelong lessons to help them become global citizens. The power of authentic learning lies in the hands of a highly, creative and engaging teacher that thinks beyond a basic lesson. Rumph goes in with end in mind ensuring all students will grasp the concept of the lesson. It is a different view in the eyes of an educator who has witnessed the great work Ms. Rumph has done throughout her education journey. May the work she has done so far continues to speak for her. I’m beyond proud of you and I know you will continue to change lives like u have changed lives in Americus, GA. Well done my friend. Continue to give the world the best that you got.
