Kim Thompson was nominated by her principal, Dave Petett.
Campbellsville High School recently earned the honor of being a School of Distinction in the State of Kentucky. This was earned through success on standardized tests and a culture of excellence that focuses on the individual students, making sure they have the care and motivation needed to succeed. Students view Ms. Thompson as a provider of care and a big motivator behind their success.
Ms. Thompson is an alumnus of Campbellsville High and has worked there for the past decade. She wears the Eagle banner proudly and is a wonderful advocate for the district. Above all, she cares about all students and staff. Ms. Thompson has four kids of her own who attend school in the district, but she has hundreds of other Eagle students who she treats as her own children, as well. She pours her time, effort, and energy into students, making sure they have whatever needed to get through the day. She provides snacks, car rides, kind words, pats on the back and words of wisdom to students. Ms. Thompson truly loves her students and has done wonders in building a positive culture at CHS. She handles the many responsibilities of her job and pitches in to volunteer at basically every on-campus event. She always lends an ear to her colleagues and many turn to her in times of need or when seeking advice.
"I am proud to share an office with Ms. Thompson and know that our school is a better place because of her impact, and that the lives of our students are better because of her," Petett said.
