Krystla Fay was nominated by her principal, Karen Guenette.
As Old Colony's Special Services Coordinator, Krystla Fay works endlessly with the special needs population and their families. Over 30% of Old Colony's students are on Individual Education Plans. Krystla is extremely organized in keeping with guidelines and deadlines for testing, scheduling, and advocating for special services that assist students in their educational success.
Krystla also oversees the guidance department, nurse's office, the school adjustment counselors, English language learners, all special education teachers and paraprofessionals. She takes her position very seriously and attends courses, conferences, workshops, and even state and national conventions. She is always on top of things, keeping up with the latest laws, trends, available technologies, and co-teaching models.
"She wants to ensure that the students at Old Colony, under her leadership, have all of the latest accommodations and assistance that they need to have a successful educational high school career," Guenette said.
