Deanna Yucho was nominated by parent of a student, Erica Bean
"I've never met a teacher who truly loves her students quite like Ms. Yucho does," Bean said. "Both of my children have had Ms. Yucho as their second-grade teacher, and the first time we met was at a parent teacher conference. I wanted to cry at the end; tears of joy of course. The way she spoke about her job and the kids was true and passionate. She gives out her cell phone number to all the parents and said to call any time."
Bean's family has been going through some hard times, and Ms. Yucho has been extremely supportive every step of the way.
"As we all know, we have teachers who can change the world; she is one of them," Bean said. "Nothing feels better than your kids coming home so happy to be in her class. I wish we had more teachers like her."

Mrs Yucho really loves and cares for her students
Recently my son was admitted to the hospital for appendicitis. Mrs.Yucho took the time not only to reach out on a regular basis to check on my son Justice, but the whole family. She made a personal visit to the hospital to hand deliver cards and gifts from the class. He felt so loved and supported. This act of love and kindness and support is only one example of her life as a teacher. It is authentic and true and goes far beyond academics! As a mother of 5 we have had MANY teachers over MANY years, and is by far one of a kind! Wether or not she wins this award, Mrs.Yucho has a very special place in this family's heart!
I agree with Erica about Mrs Yucho being a great teacher. She loves her students and communicates with parents. She deserves to be rewarded.
Mrs. yucho is an amazing teacher. The love and compassion she shows her students is incredible. Jaiden comes home everyday not only excited about what she is learning but she feels the love and support from Mrs. yucho and that means the world to her. We couldn’t ask for a better teacher.

My daughter riley is in ms. Yucho's class and shr absolutly loves her. We know that she truley cates about our kids and gives them as much peraonal attentuon as a possible with 32 seven and eight year olds all by herself, she must be superwoman. We love Hollydale Elementary and Ms. Yucho!

Ms.Yucho is a life changing teacher. She deeply cares about her students. She also is a genuinely kind and compassionate individual. She brings joy by her smilies and comments every time you she her. As a school counselor, i have admired the academic and social-emotional teaching. She is one of the most skilled teachers I have ever known. Deanna has a remarkable ability to meet the needs of her students at every developmental level. She enjoys teaching, enjoys students, and especially enjoys teaching her students to be critical thinkers. She is a very positive influence!
