Nikia Hunt was nominated by a student who wishes to remain anonymous.
Mrs. Hunt made a difference in her nominator's life by supporting her through tough times. Mrs. Hunt is an educator who is always willing to listen and give helpful advice. She makes the school a better place with her upbeat personality and contagious positivity. Mrs. Hunt is a friend to all, and is always trying to make school more fun and exciting. She is always there to lend a helping hand because she genuinely cares about her students' individual needs.
"She has always been honest and trustworthy to me, and pushes me to make the right decisions," her nominator said.
Mrs. Hunt is also a leader at Litchfield Public Schools, and is actively involved in her school community. She is in charge of many activities that include both high school and middle school quiz bowl, the newsletter, the school website, social media, FBLA chapter, the class of 2021, and the robotics club. Mrs. Hunt also attends conferences to present and share technology and knowledge.
A couple years ago, Mrs. Hunt brought "Hour of Code" to Litchfield Public Schools as a way to introduce the basics of computer science to her students. She had her information technology class create lessons to teach the basics of coding to younger students.
"It was a great experience that I learned from. I had a great time teaching younger kids," her nominator said. "Mrs. Hunt's classroom is always fun and we learn a lot. It is hardly like school because it is more like a game when you find out that you've actually learned a lot from what you were doing."
"I think that Mrs. Hunt deserves to be recognized as LifeChanger of the Year for being a favorite teacher of mine" her nominator said. "She is truly a life-changing teacher, and all of her students love her."
