Beth Blevins was nominated by her colleague, Deborah Langston

Ms. Blevins is the principal of West View Elementary School in Knoxville, TN. She is a dedicated educator who works closely with gifted and inner city children.

"She is a great teacher-she taught magnet school at Beaumont Magnet School," Langston said. "Beth is a great person and professional friend. She is excellence!"

I cannot think of a more dedicated person to receive this nomination! Dr. Blevins supports her staff, her students, her family and the community. She is the first person to jump in if you need anything. I am truly blessed to be part of her West View Family!

Dr. Blevin's is a great principal who is a "hands on" type of leader who can do the job of anyone in the school. She is the type of leader who is always visible and proactive. She has also been very supportive of me and the work that I do for my students. Dr. Blevins can be seen throughout the day visiting classrooms, helping teachers, meeting with students, monitoring the cafeteria, or having lunch in her office with students. She knows the names of every student in the building and despite a busy prinicpal's schedule; Dr. Blevins always makes herself available to talk to anyone who needs her. Before becoming a teacher, I worked in a corporate environment for almost twenty years. I know good management and leadership when I see it. Dr. Blevins is a leader who leads with her mind and her heart and she is worthy of the Life Changer of the Year nomination.
