Jessica Tafoya was nominated by Brenda Lovato, the parent of a student.

Mrs. Tafoya is such a breath of fresh air to her entire school community. She is an incredible example of patience and kindness that is balanced with her professionalism. She sets an example for her students and never loses composure or raises her voice.

"The children absolutely love her, and she loves them," Lovato said. They listen from the heart and do not want to disappoint the sweetest, nicest teacher they will ever encounter. She teaches with such gentleness that one may wonder how in the world does she manage her class with such delicacy while still being so effective? In fact, she's very successful, and the test scores prove it for themselves."

Young, confident and motivated, Mrs. Tafoya has made a world of difference in the lives of many of her students. Her classroom atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable for all. She creates a fun and exciting environment that nurtures a desire to learn something new every day. She makes every child feel at ease, never afraid and always ready for the day.
