LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Vanessa Hale was nominated by her principal, Teresa Guill.

Mrs. Hale is a retired educator filling in as a long-term substitute for one of Mountain Valley Elementary School's pre-k classes. She is an outstanding educator, and she is the face of kindness. Her love for her students, staff, and school does not go unnoticed. 

Mrs. Hale surprised students and staff with random acts of kindness throughout the year, making their days a little brighter. She gifted her school's staff of 50 with matching umbrellas and a class of 17 with new bikes. Mrs. Hale says she likes to be a blessing to others, and she truly has been. Mrs. Hale turned 70 in March, and the school celebrated her milestone by surprising her with the Vanessa Hale Outstanding Substitute Achievement Award. This award will be presented each year to an outstanding substitute in honor of Mrs. Hale.

"Vanessa Hale is a true LifeChanger. She not only changed lives here at Mountain Valley, but she has also changed lives throughout her years of teaching, and that is what a great educator does," said Guill.
