"Ms. Hill helps everyone in the school and community," said the student. "She helps students get their service hours for graduation. She volunteers for all community events, such as the 4th of July event, Christmas parade, summer camp, and Night Out for police officers. She is everywhere and is always happy. She never has a bad day. She also does free tutoring for children who need extra help. She promotes respect for yourself and others. She's a rockstar!"
It's an honor to support Ms. Hill's nomination for the LifeChanger of The Year Award. I can not think of a better candidate who embodies the characteristics of this award. Celeste Hill currently serves as a Community School Coordinator with PGCPS but she has served in various roles during her 26 years with the school district. Ms. Hill’s commitment to doing good travels beyond the school building, touching families and the community.
Ms. Hill’s positive impact is felt by students, staff, parents, and the community. Her respectful and peaceful demeanor helps create a culture of positivity, respect, pride, and learning. Ms. Hill provides professional development to staff, mentors students, and supports struggling families. She is deeply rooted in the community where she lives and serves. Her connection to the school and community allows her to create partnerships to provide resources to students and their families. The families in the community have great respect for Ms. Hill because she has been there through the changes and challenges over the years. Regardless of those changes and challenges, Ms. Hill’s leadership and commitment have remained constant.
She has provided support and mentorship over generations in the community. Celeste Hill has interacted and connected with grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and siblings. Her professionalism, nurturing spirit, and positivity have de-escalated more incidents than I can count. Ms. Hill is able to help students, parents, and staff in crisis. She’s able to do this because of her unwavering moral standards, respect for those she serves, and commitment to the community. Ms. Hill can calm a student in crisis who has reached 1000, recenter a staff member in tears, and bring an irate parent back to reality. She even has the gift of quieting a cafeteria full of middle school students. To this day, I still haven’t seen anyone do this quite like Ms. Hill with such grace.
Ms. Hill is respected and loved by her students, staff, parents, and community. She truly is a LifeChanger.

It is such a pleasure having Ms. Hill in our building. Not only does she have a good rapport with the staff in the building, more importantly the students love and respect her. She is honest about her desire to help children be their best and the students can feel it. I’ve heard her affectionately refer to them as one of “my kids”. It’s always such a bonus for me to witness when one of “her kids”, who have long graduated, stops by the school just to say hello and give Ms. Hill an update of how they are doing and how impactful Ms. Hill was in their life. She has a far reach in the past and continues to make a huge impact on students within our school and the community.
Ms. Hill is a valuable resource to our learning community. She is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that students are positively engaged in a thriving and caring learning environment.
Well to begin with I just want to say Ms.Hill is the kindest soul someone may ever meet. She will support everyone around her and will treat everyone equally. She is loving and caring and take it from me who was a student on her case load 2 years ago she still cares and supports me and my decisions. Ms.Hill will go above and beyond for her students and everyone else. She motivated me into doing better in school and outside of school even to this day she still checks up on me and supports me. She is someone I can rely on and tell all my problems too. I consider Ms. Hill my second mom she is someone I look up to and aspire to be like her one day. The way she is so passionate about what she does is very heart warming and I am very honored to have meet her and still have her in my life. I am honored to be writing this recommendation for LifeChanger of the Year.
Celeste Hill has done a phenomenal job in supporting the community by arranging a space for me to hold line dance classes at the Laurel High School bldg. The classes are a great way for people in the surrounding community to come, get together, meet new people, have fun and get good aerobic style exercise at the same time.

Celeste Hill is a one woman force in her community. She is a a consistent advocate for students and anyone else that needs her support. She does not hesitate to roll up her sleeves and help whomever and wherever she can. She is a woman of God and a true example of the principles of our beloved sorority, Delta Sigma Theta.

Ms. Hill always goes above and beyond to provide for students throughout the district. Not only does she provide resources for the kids but she creates and builds strong relationships with them that last far beyond their time in PGCPS schools.
Ms. Hill has been a pillar in the community of Laurel for many years. She supports the community in a variety of ways. Most specifically, she works to mentor students and aims to make sure they have what they need to succeed. She takes it even further and provides opportunities for students to serve their community and earn service hours. She also provides opportunities for trips and experiences that students may not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in. Her love and dedication run deep.
I met Ms. Hill while I was I college. My mom was always helping out with an L3 event. The more I observed Ms. Hill in action, the more motivated I became and got involved with mentoring and giving back in college community and now that I’m home I’m still doing so. Ms. Hill is a true inspiration.
I met Ms. Hill in 2013 as a coworker and have supported and volunteered for her L3 mentoring organization for years. Her passion and investment in our youth, girls specifically is absolutely inspiring. She’s always upbeat, ready to help others and goes above and beyond for her community. She is truly deserving of this award.

I've known and supported Celeste "Ms." Hill and her L3 organization for years, I participated in her highly successful coat drive helped approx. 700 people get much needed warm cost to help them through the harsh winter that year. I’ve never seen anyone as passionate about helping young girls survive and succeed; her annual breast cancer run brought out many supporters to include the mayor of laurel; I know for a fact first hand she has been able to save lives; we need more many people who instill pride and discipline of conduct to young people and is willing to follow them from high school to and through college and acknowledges and praise their success. It's an honor to know and support her efforts. I can’t imagine anyone more deserving.
I am very pleased, and honored to write a letter of recommendation on behalf of a great friend that I have known for most of her adult life. Ms Celeste Hill is a great mentor who takes time out of your day to listen to those around her. After listening to them, she finds a way to resolve the issue(s) at hand.
Miss Celeste Hill is constantly striving to achieve greatness! She will go out of her way to make sure his students have their “A Game On!” She’s not known to give up and always finds ways to make her goals happen(well, actually her students goals happen).

So my cousin should be nominated for many reasons. But one in particular is her to ability to truly understand complex situations. I have really bad panic attacks and she happen to be walking up the street. She sensed something wrong right away. She immediately helped me calm myself. She talked to me for two hours. She didn’t realize how much she gave me that day. She helped me more than she would ever know. I will never forget it. It was a Life changer for me because I found a way to manage my symptoms with the advice I was given. I appreciate her very much for that. So yes this indeed was a Life changing experience. I have her to thank for that!
It is indeed an honor to nominate Ms. Celeste Hill for LifeChanger of the year award. First, Ms. Hill is a positive role model to students, staff, and community at large. Celeste Hill is among the most dedicated educators I know. I have partnered with her for 15 years to engage students in community service, volunteerism and local government. Her work has always extended well beyond the classroom. She mentors young people; creates learning, social and cultural experiences for them; and encourages students to be engaged in the community and the issues that affect them. This includes mental and physical health, exercise, the empowerment of young women, and food, clothing and coat drives. She is a tireless advocate for middle and high school students and her energy and enthusiasm is contagious. Ms. Hill’s compassion and commitment make her an ideal LifeChanger of the Year!

As both a friend and coworker, I’ve had the opportunity to witness Celeste’s/Ms. Hill’s passion for serving young people. As a Special Educator, she has worked with some of the most challenging students and has successfully been able to positively change their decision making processes. For most of us, an 8 hour work day with the aforementioned rigor would be enough for one evening, not Celeste. For Ms.Hill, the end of the work day marks the beginning of part II. Celeste spends the rest of the afternoon and evenings mentoring young ladies through an organization she founded! I will boldly and blindly support any endeavors Celeste decides to serve.

Ms. Hill is an outstanding staff member, always ready to collaborate with others and bring joy to those around her. Her dedication to the community can also be seen in the numerous amounts of committees she is a part of. When not in the school building, Ms. Hill leads a mentoring program where she mentors middle school-aged students. Ms. Hill is an integral part of the school body and we are lucky to have her.

As a newcomer to the neighborhood and to Maryland, I really needed someone to teach me about Laurel and introduce me to people, services and activities. Ms. Hill has done just that. In the two years that I've been in Laurel, I have seen her mentor young people, arrange space for community fitness classes, work on the Juneteenth committee and lead a step team! Celeste Hill is very deserving of this award.
