Alisha Favazza was nominated by an anonymous colleague.
"Alisha has been a teacher for many years but has only been at Hollister for one, so far," said the colleague. "In that one year, she has revamped an entire program with our special education students. This community-based learning program has helped students reach new levels of achievement and allowed them to learn real-world lessons outside the classroom! Alisha is humble and pours nothing but love into her students. She is hilarious and can always find a song to sing to fit every mood! Alisha takes everything thrown at her with stride and is willing to do whatever it takes to help her team do well, even if that means sacrificing time from her own agenda. Alisha's commitment to seeing the kids go beyond the classroom and learn valuable skills extends well into the summer with her personal finance class. Alisha takes kids into the community almost daily to work amongst local businesses. I am proud to be able to work alongside Alisha. I hope she truly realizes how amazing she is!"
Alisha pours her heart and soul into supporting her students each and everyday. I've loved getting to know her and work alongside her at Hollister. She truly has a heart of gold and is so deserving of this!
Alisha is our daughter-in-law, and I can tell you we have had many conversations about her hopes and dreams for the children in her classroom care at Hollister. She is ecstatic with every positive sign of growth in her students, and equally joyful over their service to local business enterprises. She is providing them a real-world taste of life in the work world, and the jobs/tasks/opportunities that are available. Her work in the classroom spills over into good work in the local community. And ultimately, while she is making a difference in the life of each child, she is impacting their lives now, and for the immediate future as well. Most people don't think of teachers leaving a legacy. Alisha is doing that for her students! We are proud of her.
I am honored to work with Alisha. I have experienced and witnessed her deep passion for serving her students and the community. Alisha connects well with each student and the students respect and adore her. Alisha has a Zeal for life and being a compassionate teacher. Alisha has a fun sense of humor and is a joy to work with.
Alisha is the epitome of a LifeChanger. She is always so full of positive energy and enthusiasm. She creates amazing opportunities for her students and seeks new challenges for them to conquer! I don't think I have EVER heard her complain about anything. I consider it a complete honor and privilege to work with Alisha and every student (and teacher) in our building benefits from her positivity and work ethic! I'm so glad she is at Hollister!!!
Alisha is a dedicated teacher who goes above and beyond to help her students be successful. She is a diligent, thorough, creative planner for class enrichment. She is patient and kind towards the students in her care. She has great rapport with her colleagues and works well on a team. I believe her job is very physically and emotionally demanding and challenging but she manages it all with grace. She gives it her all! She is fulfilling her calling and purpose. Her students are blessed to have her as a teacher!
Alisha goes above and beyond to make personal connections with her students and to make education enjoyable! She is always thinking of new ways to help her students achieve more than they believe they are capable of! She works hard to connect the community to our school and to prepare her students to be successful members of society! Alisha strives to be better tomorrow than she was yesterday and makes the world a better place by being the LifeChanger to so many!!
Ms. Favazza brings a smile and joy to each conversation/interaction she has with both students and colleagues. Alisha has a caring heart. She shows this by always encouraging her students and advocating for their individual needs. I am so thankful Alisha is a part of our Hollister Family.
Anytime Alisha stops by to chat she always leaves me smiling or laughing. Alisha goes above and beyond for the student's. We are lucky to have her!

I became acquainted with Alisha as a substitute teacher in her absence. She is always cheerful & quick to give encouragement to not only her students but to those she comes in contact with. She truly puts her students first & wants to see them reach their full potential which goes far beyond the classroom. Hollister is extremely blessed to have her as an exemplary teacher & person. Thank you Alisha for all you do for HHS & it's students.
My daughter is a new student at Hollister this year. Mrs. Favazza has gone above and beyond to make her feel welcome. She is supportive of her needs and is truly a fabulous teacher. I love that she teaches job skills that are applicable to the real world. She is a blessing to the special education students and to the Hollister school district as a whole. I am so grateful to have her as a teacher for my daughter.
Mrs. Favazza is a champion for students and seeks to find opportunities for her students to get life and job skills within the school district and within the community. I often call upon Mrs. Favazza and her amazing students to help with items for events both for the school and in the community. Her answer is always "YES!" She and her students do a top-notch job on every project I send their way!
Alisha is teacher whose heart is truly set on helping her students succeed. She thinks outside of the box and strives to make her students feel included and accepted. She is a valuable member of our faculty.
Alisha has always been one of the most upbeat people I have ever known. She can face any challenge and see the positive no matter what. She is always smiling and you can't help but to smile when in her presence. She is amazing and this is well deserved.
Alisha has one of the most demanding jobs in our district - physically, emotionally, mentally... And she handles it all with a smile at all times. She truly shows love for her job, her students, her coworkers, and her community. She takes her job seriously while still making it a fun environment. Alisha is such a pleasant individual in general. Alisha has been a fabulous addition to our Tiger Family! She has spunk, eagerness, initiative, and is the cheerful cheerleader for every single person she encounters. Not only does she make our Hollister High School more positive and fun, she has excelled at giving ALL students success with more than ample opportunities to have life and career readiness and to take on successful lives when they graduate. I am honored and so thankful for the immeasurable amount of success she pours into every student that crosses her path!

I witnessed firsthand her work ethic and passion she pours into her job everyday. I've had the awesome privilege of teaching alongside Alisha at two different school districts.
Alisha cares about her students and wants the best for them. They do a coffee/hot chocolate bar weekly, which I participate in. Her students come to my room weekly and are extremely polite and professional. I enjoy my time with them.

I’ve known Alisha on a personal level for many years. Even though we don’t get to see each other often every time we visit I am always out at ease by Alisha’s down to earth personality. I know if I feel this way then her students equally enter into a room with no judgement but with someone who wants to listen to them. Alisha has a heart of perseverance and instills that into others weather she knows it or not. Alisha would be well deserved for this award.
