Evelyn Ramirez was nominated by a colleague, Kristiana Karlin.

"Evelyn was the friendliest, kindest, and most compassionate person I had the honor to work with while I was teaching at Langford Elementary School," said Karlin. "She was always willing to meet with me and go over various issues I needed help with, whether they were professional or personal. She always made time to help me understand and give me the guidance she seamlessly had in abundance."

"One of my fondest memories is when she would come in and do a lesson with our classroom on social-emotional learning," said Karlin. "The way she shared information became the model of how I instructed my class from that moment on. I was inspired to be more like her every day because of her dedication and willingness to embrace so many responsibilities with a cheerfulness that made everyone want to do more, to achieve more for the sake of the school and community."
