LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Laura Saulys was nominated by an anonymous student.

Mrs. Saulys is truly a teacher who can also be known as a LifeChanger. She has made a difference in the lives of many students through her teaching, her entertaining stories, and her kind and outgoing personality. Mrs. Saulys truly makes Old Quarry Middle School a much brighter place.

"When Mrs. Saulys walks through the hallways of OQMS, she always has a bright and welcoming smile on her face," her nominator said. "Many of my friends and I can recall stories of when we felt down or helpless, and Mrs. Saulys stepped in to save the day."

Mrs. Saulys always makes the learning environment fun; her students get excited about literature, writing, and her lectures on strengthening their English skills. Mrs. Saulys is always excited about the content she teaches her classes, which makes her students excited, too.

"I can remember my friends and I were excited about her class every day," her nominator said. "Mrs. Saulys has said many things to me and my classmates that will stick with us for the rest of our lives. She not only taught us English, but life lessons, as well."

Mrs. Saulys ensures that every student in her English class understands the content.

"I can recall Mrs. Saulys marking up every single one of our essays with her red pen, telling us exactly what we did wrong," her nominator explained. "She would let us make the adjustments needed to our essays and hand them back, proving that she wanted her students to learn from their mistakes. Mrs. Saulys' lessons not only have benefited her students in school, but outside of school, as well."
