Shelly Steiner was nominated anonymously. 

"Shelly goes above and beyond her duties on a daily basis," said the nominator. "As our elementary custodian, she not only mops, vacuums, disinfects, and tidies rooms each afternoon and evening, she helps with bulletin boards, finds missing shoes and boots, helps with school spirit activities, washes dirty paint shirts and soiled clothing, and is a sounding board and comfort for the teachers and students. She also helps with keeping our gymnasiums and wellness center spotless. Shelly also will sit down with a student who needs someone to listen to them read. As if this isn't enough, she washes dishes in the kitchen over lunch hour each day."

"Recently, we lost our assistant cook to a heart attack. In true Shelly fashion, she stepped up, volunteering to change her schedule, and is now coming in at 5:00 A.M. to clean classrooms and tidy the elementary building. She then switches over around 7:00 A.M. to cooking breakfast and lunch before finishing cleaning duties after lunch. Shelly is the epitome of a great school custodian. She goes above and beyond every day to help the success of our school family, and she does it all with a big smile and a can-do attitude! Students give her hugs, smiles, and waves every single day," said the nominator.
