Her loyalty to the home team, from preschool through high school, is unwavering. Mrs. Pearson uplifts both teachers and students with equal enthusiasm. Hampton High School was built in 1962. It has survived this long because of Mrs. Pearson's dedication to the building. Mrs. Pearson's enduring tenure spans more than three decades. Her responsibilities encompass clearing away not only physical messes but also figurative and symbolic ones. She also stays after the end of the school year to completely re-wax the entire school.
From unlocking doors to tidying up, she does her duties with unwavering dedication and an unbreakable spirit of love. Her infectious smile can illuminate even the darkest days, and her words of encouragement resonate with pure positivity. "When I was first hired and was setting up my classroom, she helped me move my desk. My desk is solid wood, and my classroom is upstairs. There is not a kinder, or more hardworking, person than Ruby," said Katelin McKeehan, a colleague.
"I've never heard a student say a bad thing about her. In fact, I've heard students encourage each other to clean up so they don't 'make more work for Ms. Ruby.' She is kind and caring; above all, she truly loves all the students," said Anna Stout, a colleague.
