LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

William Brown was nominated by a colleague, Jed Jones.

"Three words to describe Billy Brown as a LifeChanger are dependable, passionate, and dedicated," said Jones.

"Mr. Billy is an outstanding member of the West Bloomfield staff, and while it is easy to simply say that he does his job great, it is another to see him not only at work, but at nearly every after-school event. His passion to help make and, in some instances, keep West Bloomfield as a great place is wonderful," said Jones.

"What makes Mr. Billy a LifeChanger in my eyes is his ability to include my students in the everyday life of the school. My classroom is all the way in the back of the school with the students who often get the side eye from their peers...The reception and thoughtfulness Mr. Billy displays toward the students within the self-contained special education classrooms are unique. Some days, it is as simple as a smile and a, 'Hello, how are you today?' On other days, it is helping students through a crowded hallway or lunch line. Then there is everyone's favorite, 'playing' with the floor scrubber," said Jones.

"Mr. Billy is a fantastic employee for West Bloomfield Schools. Still, his advocation, acceptance, and, for lack of a better term, willingness to make the students in the special education department feel like equal members of the student body is what makes him a LifeChanger in my eyes," said Jones.
