Steven Valdez was nominated by a colleague, Melissa Juarez.
"Three words to describe Steven are positive, motivated, and hardworking," said Juarez.
"Steve has gone above and beyond from cleaning the cafeteria for students and maintaining the outside walkways to be clear and free of debris. There have been snakes many times on the playground and once in the classroom, and Steve has gone in and removed the snakes," said Juarez. "Steve radiates his high energy to students. Some of our sped kids even request to go by and say Hi to Steve. He truly has impacted their lives, as well."
"Our staff and employee restrooms have never looked so good. Floors have been scrubbed and cleaned, and we have been complimented on how clean the restrooms are and how good they smell. He brings positive energy and is always willing to help with a smile, always willing to help with anything asked of him. Steve has been a gift sent to this school," said Juarez.
