Annemarie Behrens was nominated by her principal, Gigi Whalen.
Ms. Behrens has been a member of Coyote Creek Elementary School staff for three years and is an outstanding teacher, colleague, parent, and community member.
"As a teacher, she is amazing with kids - she is such a natural teacher, so engaging, loves her students, and the growth they make with her is incredible. She is also a great teammate, supporting her grade level colleagues as well as others around the building," Whalen said.
Ms. Behrens is also working on her principals license and has been seeking out ways to be a part of leadership opportunities around the school. She's part of the teacher leadership group for PBIS, and she joined the literacy committee to contribute to helping her school align its work for a balanced literacy program. Ms. Behrens is also a parent and lives in her community.
"She has wonderful children who are such a positive reflection of her and wants to contribute to her community in a positive and caring way. She has made a difference in our school and our community over the last three years and we are very lucky to have her at Coyote Creek Elementary," Whalen said.
