Timothy Lucas was nominated anonymously. 

Lucas is passionate about helping students find their voices, which is why he teaches journalism in addition to English Language Arts (ELA).

Lucas was profiled in a Goldendale Sentinel article earlier this year for his success in reviving the school newspaper at Goldendale High School, stating that "it’s thanks to a passionate Timothy Lucas that the high school has a new program encouraging kids to explore their writing abilities."

“I just feel that kids should have a voice,” Lucas shared candidly. “I know a lot of times they don’t feel like they have any say, and newspapers are a vehicle for that expression.”

"The rebirth of Goldendale High School’s newspaper is an inspiring event for all students. It shows a new chapter for the school, one of rebuilding and exploration that the students and community can appreciate. With a huge thanks to Lucas, the limits of the Timberwolf Times are limitless."

Timothy has been a great asset to the Goldendale High School staff and has made it his mission to provide students a voice through the revival of the Timberwolf Times newspaper. We appreciate all of the extra time and effort he puts in and student connections he is creating with his work.
