Music that Describes Amanda
Amanda Cerny was nominated by a colleague, Stacy Lutjemeyer.
Ms. Cerny is not only the best head cook of all time, but she is also a fantastic person of all time! With the power of her delicious and well-planned meals and her nurturing personality, Ms. Cerny can work wonders for students and faculty alike! She shows how much she cares for her students by planning nutritional and tasty meals for them to eat midday through their routine. She visits with kids and adults and gives them the pick-me-up they may need.
She has high leadership and professionalism and provides a nurturing environment for her workers. There has been no turnover in the kitchen since Ms. Cerny became the head cook. Ms. Cerny and her team work so well together! Ms. Cerny keeps the students' tastes in mind while meeting the health code standards.
"Three words that describe Amanda are creative, caring, and efficient! She is always willing to help out with staff celebrations and treats for students, even at the spur of the moment! Students and staff know they will get fed well, and she is a joy to work with," said Lutjemeyer.
Mrs. Cernbby always puts a smile on my face when I walk through the lunch line. I never bring my lunch anymore because ever since she's been here, we've had amazing food that I never leave hungry.
Lunch is always on my mind as a student, so to have that worry taken care of by someone as phenomenal as Ms. Cerny is truly a highlight of my day. Ms. Cerny also gives us a good laugh in the morning as she takes account of how many are eating in each class.
Amanda Cerny is the nicest cook in the world evertime I get lunch she has a smiles on her face. Always makes sure the school is well feed. Cant help myself but to get seconds when I eat her amazing food. I love when she makes Oreo fluff sometimes I wish she was my mom if I got to eat like that everyday.
Amanda Cerny is the best cook ever. She never fails to put a smile on my face with her cooking and her personality. She keeps our tummy full and our smiles wide. She is truly the best and our school wouldn't be complete without her.
Mrs. Cerny is a good cook and is always feeding us nutritious food to keep us energized for school.She is always smiling and is always positive no matter what.
She is an absolute amazing cook and always comes to school with a smile on her face. She is just somebody that everyone loves at Dorchester!
Great cook always makes sure everyone gets food. Is nice and well going, goes out of her way to help others and is a great leader.
She's a great person. She ensures everyone at the school is fed daily, even during the summer.
Amanda Cerny is one of my favorite people at Dorchester Highschool. She is so caring and never thinks twice when helping someone. She will always put whatever person in front of her, that’s just the type of person she is. When I’m running a little late for school she never fails to still offer me breakfast or hand me a granola bar so I have something to eat. She has such a kind soul and I’ve never seen her without a smile. She’s so strong willed and someone I genuinely look up to.
Amanda is one of the kindest and hardest working people I’ve ever met. She’s always happy and has the biggest smile no matter what happens. She always has the best ideas for our school lunches and is always making sure we have the best snacks and fruit to eat.
Amanda is a caring, nurturing, hard-working individual who continuously works to provide and advocate for all students. She is not only an amazing head cook for our school district, she values relationships with both students and fellow staff. Amanda goes above and beyond for others, and is a servant leader in our school system as well as the community. As a new employee to the district last year, Amanda was one of the first to greet me and welcome me to the school community. I am honored to work with and next to her each day. She is whole-heartedly deserving of this award.
Amanda is a wonderful staff member at our school. She spreads positivity through everything the kitchen staff does for our school. Amanda takes great pride in providing nutritious meals that both students and staff enjoy. She does not hesitate to help in whatever way she can whether it is putting together a breakfast for a student who has come to school late or getting a staff member a lunch who arrived at the lunchroom early or late due to their busy schedule or providing snacks for student and staff events. She makes everyone feel welcome with a "good morning", "hello", asking how your day is going, or joking around with both students and staff. Our school is a better place because of her.
Amanda does such a great job putting the students wants and need into everything she does. She is always thinking of ways to make breakfast and lunch time very fun and meaningful time. Her interaction with the children going through the line and always giving them a smile or a pat on the back for something they have done. She is also always looking and working on better ways to prepare the meals and finding nutritional things for them to try. Amanda is a very creative person and very well deserves this honor.
Amanda used to be my paraprofessional (before I retired) and was one of the best. However, it had always been her dream to be the head cook at school so when there was an opening she made the switch.
Amanda quickly transformed the kitchen, the menu, and what people were expecting from the kitchen.
She moved from mostly processed food to everything homemade. Her recipes were amazing. Some of the foods, especially soups, she would allow the staff taste tests. Everything was fantastic. If you’re not wanting the school meal, she provides a salad bar with a plethora of toppings always including homemade salads.
In addition to providing homemade breakfasts and lunches, she prepares staff meals for inservice days and parent/teacher conferences.
She transformed the kitchen from somewhere children and adults had to get a meal to a place people look forward to eating.
