Amy Phillips was nominated by a colleague, Marsha Mosca.

Ms. Phillips is a positive and creative individual who is always focused on doing what is best for the students. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit and students were learning from home, Ms. Phillips ensured that meals were available daily at neighborhood locations throughout the district, making it easier for families rather than requiring them to drive to the school. After the pandemic, when cafeteria breakfast was no longer an option, Ms. Phillips advocated for the return of hot breakfast meals for students, pushing for change to move away from the grab-and-go system that had been implemented.

In addition to her advocacy for better meal options, Ms. Phillips regularly meets with students of various age groups to gather their feedback on the lunches, asking for suggestions on how to improve the menu. She listens to their input and, when possible, incorporates their ideas. While her primary focus remains on providing the best meals for students, Ms. Phillips has also developed an adult menu to accommodate staff members. Her dedication to both students and staff has made her an invaluable asset to the district.
