I am not surprised that Mrs. McCargo was nominated for the Life Changer of the Year Award. Her passion and enthusiasm for teaching have transformed her students' perspectives on their own abilities, creating life-changing experiences for those lucky enough to have her as their teacher. The time, effort, and creativity she invests in her unorthodox teaching methods are always focused on encouraging students to strive for excellence in their understanding of science and math. It is her caring and patient nature that inspires them to fully apply themselves, both academically and in all aspects of their lives. I wholeheartedly recommend that she be considered for this prestigious award.
It’s easy to see why Ms. McCargo was nominated for the LifeChanger of the Year Award. She’s a dedicated and creative educator who goes above and beyond to bring science to life for her students. Her classroom decorations are second to none, creating a space that’s both welcoming and inspiring.
Ms. McCargo is currently writing the grades 4 and 5 science curriculum, and whenever a new science initiative is introduced, she’s one of the first to get involved. Her energy and willingness to try new things help make science exciting for students.
She recently secured a NJ STEM Network grant that provided materials for hands-on activities during the school’s Brain Builders Family event. She also leads student involvement in the Panasonic Eco-Citizenship Project and the Empowered Schools Program—both of which have earned the school recognition and awards.

Tiana and I have been grade-level colleagues for many years, and her impact extends far beyond the classroom. Here is a preview of The Discovery Zone science lab that I established in our school in 2022.
This lab allows teachers the opportunity to have Hands-On learning labs that they can facilitate in a space that is operated by students. This lab allows the teachers to have their Hands-On learning set up for them and cleans up for them so that they can focus on engaging kids in stem learning. We even had special guests like in this video where the students have the opportunity to visit a turtle.

To say Tiana McCargo is deserving of this award is truly an understatement! She goes above and beyond for our students in so many ways. She is a phenomenal teacher and an inspiring mentor, as well as a support for so many of our teachers. It has been an honor to teach with her the past ten years. When I returned to the teaching field ten years ago, I was lucky enough to work on the same team with her. I have known Tiana McCargo for several years as we work together at Bowser School. Tiana has an amazing positive attitude that radiates through her and onto her students. Not only is she an incredible teacher, but she’s a fantastic colleague. She has taken on leadership roles at our school, time and time again. I do not know where she finds the time or the energy but I do know that she is always putting our school first. This honor is extremely warranted and I am proud to know her.
