LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Nikki Sabo was nominated anonymously. 

A few words describe Mrs. Sabo and her teaching: encouraging, accountable, and professional. Mrs. Sabo has taught in the science department at Eastwood High School for over twenty years. Throughout her career, she has taken on many roles to positively impact her students.

She recently retired after nearly twenty years as a high school track coach. Her influence on her student-athletes is remarkable, so much so that former students continue to reach out to her for guidance and support even long after graduation.

Mrs. Sabo encourages her students while holding them accountable for their actions, and she applies the same high standards to her staff. She emphasizes to her students that having a strong work ethic is essential, regardless of whether they are in the classroom or on the athletic field. She is dedicated to improving her teaching by continually learning new strategies and understanding how to support students with special needs. She effectively communicates and advocates for those in need. 

Additionally, she demonstrates flexibility and collaboration with her colleagues who work with special needs students. Mrs. Sabo always gives back to her community by hosting or leading community activities such as the Eastwood Athletic Booster Club. Mrs. Sabo has touched many students' and community members' lives in her career and is a LifeChanger in the Eastwood Local School District community.
