Bridget Skelly was nominated anonymously. Her nominator wrote the following letter to her:
"I wanted to take a moment to write you this letter because words can't fully express how much you've impacted my life. You were more than just a teacher to me—you were a life changer. Before entering your class, I didn't believe in myself as I should have. School was a place I barely tolerated, and I didn't feel like I fit in. But you saw something in me that I couldn't see in myself. You were always there when I needed support, whether with schoolwork or just life. Your kindness and patience made me feel like I mattered, and you never gave up on me, even when I felt like giving up on myself. You ensured that I knew it was okay to make mistakes and that those mistakes were just part of growing and learning. What stands out the most is how you believed in me, even when I didn't believe in myself. You saw my potential, and you helped me see it, too. You taught me that learning wasn't just about grades—it was about growing as a person. Your encouragement didn't just help me do better in school; it helped me do better in life. You helped me understand that how I view myself can change everything; I'll never forget that. You were always there, whether it was to listen, give advice, or share a laugh when things got tough. You made the classroom feel like a safe space where I could be myself. You showed me that being kind and patient with others is one of the most important things we can do, and I try to carry it with me every day. You didn't just teach me math, science, or history—you taught me how to be a better person. You helped me find the confidence I needed to start believing in my abilities, and that's something I'll always be grateful for. Thank you, Ms. Skelly, for everything. You truly changed my life, and I will always remember your impact on me," said the nominator.
Although this is my fist year having Mrs. Skelly as a teacher, we have already built a connection that I will cherish throughout the rest of my time at Waukesha West. Mrs. Skelly goes above and beyond to make sure she builds strong connections with her students as well as being an inviting teacher for any and everyone. Her positive attitude is inviting and encouraging, while also teaching her students valuable life skills that they will take with them beyond the walls of Waukesha West. She cares about the well being of her students and is always there to help in all aspects of life! Thank you Mrs, Skelly for everything you have done for so far, I can’t wait to continue taking classes with you!
Mrs. Skelly is one of the best teachers! I’ve heard such good things about her and decided to join her class and I didn’t regret it. She makes class so fun and is always excited to teach!
Mrs. Skelly is an incredible person and teacher! She truly cares for everyone and makes sure everyone in her classes is learning in the best way possible...with fun! She is so upbeat and makes everyone smile, I'm looking forward to taking one of her classes again!
Skelly the GOAT. She is more than a teacher she is family
The first time I had Mrs. Skelly was my first semester of sophomore year in Human Relationships, and I knew she was going to change my high school experience. Her passion for the topics we talked about in that class was so important to me, as she had so much care for every student in that room. Her compassion and patience when people would share their experiences truly shows how beautiful her soul is and how her kindness radiates in everything she does, something that I aspire for. When I was going through a rough time, she would always sit there and listen to me while offering the most phenomenal advice. I will always remember when she sent me an email telling me that she will always be there to listen because it truly meant so much to me. She is one of those teachers who makes coming to school genuinely enjoyable, and the name for this award is the best way that I could describe her: a life changer. I am forever grateful that I got to have the influence of the amazing Mrs. Skelly in my life. She inspires me so, so, so much, and I hope to have this great of an impact on all the people around me. Thank you for all that you do Skell, it doesn’t go unnoticed.
every school needs a skelly! i had taken almost every one of her classes and they were always my favorites. she genuinely cares for her students so much and was such a safe space for me in high school. her energy and out look on life is so refreshing, love you girl!
Honestly words cannot describe how absolutely wonderful, inspiring, caring, patient, and generous this woman is. I graduated 2 years ago, and I had the pleasure of having Mrs. Skelly for 3 out of my 4 years between multiple classes and being her student aid for one period. From the first time I met her she has always been such a positive light in my life and as a teacher to all of her students. She made sure that we all knew and felt comfortable and happy and safe around her, and knew that we can come to her at anytime. I don’t think there was a single time when she wasn’t smiling and greeting us as we walk in her room, she truly made us feel supported, seen, cared for, and understood. She let me borrow her sweatshirt because I was cold and only wearing shorts and a t-shirt, she gives the best hugs, especially when you need it, and she was there for me when I went through a rough thing and needed a shoulder to lean on. One of my favorite things she did if we were in her class was hand writing us a personal card and giving it to us with a granola bar for our birthdays. I don’t think I’ve ever learned more or any better lessons or advice for life than I did from her and her classes. She made a wonderful and huge impact on me and my life and I am so thankful for that and for her.
I sat next to Skelly for advisory, and took her class. She always comforted me when I needed support and gave great advice. She was sunshine when it was a dry and boring day. It was always so nice to see her smile, whether it was teaching or just conversations, she always brought the mood. I miss her so much. Such a wonderful, smart, caring teacher, mother, and friend.??
Ms. Skelly is a great teacher! And a frat person and she loves her children
I think Mrs. Skelly is absolutely amazing. She is caring, kind, thoughtful, and she listens and cares about all of her students very well and treats them all equally. She is very kindhearted and sweet, and deserves everything in the world. I’m happy to say that she is my teacher and that she teaches my food science this year. I’m looking forward to having her teach my cooking classes next year too.
Mrs Skelly is such an amazing teacher! She builds a great relationship will all her students and I know I can tell her anything. She is very supportive to everyone and always energetic!
I’ve had Ms. Skelly for three years and I try to take every class she has. She is so kind and you can tell how much she loved and cares for her students. She truly listens to us and gives the best advice about all subjects! She is so confident and I absolutely love how she encourages everyone to be just as confident in themselves as she is.
Skelly is an amazing teacher and person! She’s left a huge impact on the way I view not only others but as well as myself.
I haven’t even had Ms. Skelly a full month and she is already my favorite teacher. Where do I even start she is so alive, caring, and sweet. When I am having a bad day and have her class the second I walk in the door I am greeted with smiles and laughter. She actually cares about her students, which all most all my teachers do not, all they care about is teaching and learning. The first day I had her, she had us fill out a survey to ask if we needed anything from her which was an email, toiletries, snacks anything you can think of she offered. My other teachers don’t even give us a tissue. She makes sure everyone is having the best time and genuinely cares for us. I am so lucky I got to meet her and am a student of hers. I am most definitely going to join her class every year.
Skelly is the most upbeat teacher I know and is very good at her craft! She is also super loving and inclusive, and I love having her as my teacher!
Mrs. Skelly is an amazing teacher and I love being in her class.
Mrs. Skelly is an amazing teacher who makes class fun and always enjoyable. She teaches life lessons the as students we normally don’t learn in the classroom and always cares about how we are doing. She takes time to have fun with us and all of her students can tell how much she loves her job. She has taught me to be a better person and student both in and out of the classroom.
Skelly is one of the best teachers I’ve had my whole life. She is so energetic and beautiful and puts in a bunch of effort to make sure every student feels welcome and safe.
I think Ms. skelly deserves this because she is the best. I agree she is more than just a teacher she makes sure everyone is included and feels welcomed. Me in particular I feel like she has made my year better by just being her and being my teacher. I don’t like school at all but her becoming my teacher not only last semester but I got lucky to have her again for another semester has made school better for me. I look forward to coming to school to see her. I love Ms. skelly so much and she deserves this more than anyone.
Miss Skelly is such a great teacher. I met her this year during my Chef Foods class. She is the kindest person and teacher I have ever met. Every time, I need something, I know I can count on Ms Skelly to listen to me. I’m so grateful I have met her!
Mrs. Skelly is a great teacher and cares lots for each of her students she teaches. As a teacher she has great energy and is always excited to teach each class.
Great teacher, good class.
Mrs. Skelly is so funny and nice, she is a great teacher!
She should win the award. She teaches me everything I know.
Mrs. Shelly is a great teacher.
Mrs.Skelly is the best teacher ever, she’s fun, energetic, kind, and funny. She makes B days ten times more fun and she makes her classroom a safe and comfortable environment where everyone is included.
Mrs. Skelly is a really nice teacher I enjoy her class as she is a very welcoming person and energetic person. I enjoy her her class because it creates a sense of comfort and it’s a place where u can be yourself and have fun.
Mrs. Skelly class is so fun especially when we are cooking things and her class makes me feel safe and I enjoy her as my teacher.
Skelly is a great teacher I have her for 2 classes and she is great.
Miss Skelly teaches a class called Human Relationships that I took my freshman year. I’ve been to camps and church retreats, and I’ve done some student leadership conferences, which all have been inspiring. Not one of them were as inspiring as her class. Lessons such as “love yourself” and “make yourself a gossip free zone” are just a few that I think about almost every day. There is a girl on my team that used to be pretty mean to people to try to look cool. She has completely changed since she took the class last semester-she seems so much happier now. We joked with her that it’s because she took Skelly’s class. She admitted it left her so changed. Skelly is the most loved teacher in our school, but doesn’t even try to be and doesn’t really care. She just wants to help her students be their best selves and that’s what she has done for me and so many other students at West.
Her constant support, love, and encouragement have made such a positive impact in my life. She’s not only been a teacher but a genuine role model, always there to offer advice, to share her experiences, and she always believed in my potential. I’ve learned what kind of friend, partner, mother, and person overall that I want to be because of Skelly. Her patience and kindness never went unnoticed, and her passion for teaching is truly appreciated. Everyone needs a Ms. Skelly in their life :)
Thank you for everything you do. You’ve made such a difference, and I am so so thankful to have you in my corner.
Ms. Skelly believed in me. She was always rooting for me, always smiling and encouraging all of us. She opened up her classroom as a space for me whenever I needed it, just as she did for many students. I met her at a crossroads in my life, reintegrating back into public school after a two-year hiatus due to personal reasons. Her influence has helped shape who I am today. Her consistency and reliability are unmatched, and her personality is unforgettable. Nearly five years after graduation, I'm in awe of the lasting impression she has left on me. She would be proud to hear that after a long, hard journey, I'm about to graduate from Marquette University. I am forever grateful for the unwavering support and influence Ms. Skelly had on me and so many others.
Ms. Skelly is an amazing teacher and a strong woman at heart. Having her as a teacher made me realize how to be confident and to be kind regardless of any situation. She taught me that everyone is human in their own way, and taught me and many other students how to be a good human. As a result, her personal sparkle really helped others shine in their own way too. Even as I grow older, I will always remember what she taught me and how she taught me to be the best version of myself.
I graduated HS in 2012 and I still use her statement to this day:“Why be sad when you can just be happy”
She said it very nonchalant and in middle of a conversation. But I have always kept that in my mind to keep my mindset in check when things get tough. She has a passion for teaching and it shows to her students. We need more teachers like her in the world!
Mrs.Skelly was one of the best teachers I’ve ever had in my life. Honestly no one is more deserving of a LifeChanger award than she is. Mrs.Skelly has always been there as not just an educator, but a listener, helpful hand, guide, and mentor to every student she has come across. I cannot count the number of times Mrs.Skelly has been there when I needed her. She is a a prime example of not only an amazing teacher but a kind and caring individual. Every student should have a teacher like Mrs.Skelly in their life. ??????
words can't fully express how much you've impacted my life. You were more than just a teacher to me. Before entering your class, I didn't believe in myself as I should have. School was a place I barely wanted to be at and I didn't feel like I fit in. But you saw something in me that I couldn't see in myself. Thank you so much for always being that supportive person , helping hand , loving person anybody could ask for . YOU ARE THE BEST AND I WILL ALWAYS BE TEAM MRS.SKELLY
Bridget is hands down one of the best people I know. In the face of adversity she hold her own and is willing to help those around her. She has instilled confidence in me through kindness, which I hope I am able to pay forward. She is selfless, genuine, loyal, hard working and would give the shirt off her back to anyone who needed it. She doesn’t ask for anything in return just want to make an impact in her corner of the world. Needless to say, I know she has already done this.
Skelly was one of the best culinary teachers we had. She was always there when I needed someone to talk to and always led me in the right direction.
Ms. Skelly is hands down one of my favorite teachers I had while in high school. Even though I only had her for one class my last year of high school, and even though my last year was rough, meeting Ms. Skelly and being in her class made it my best year of high school. She turned any bad day into a good day and made her classroom a safe place. She’s the teacher that everyone wants to have a class with. My sister is currently in two classes with her right now and agrees that she’s the best teacher. I’m pursuing my teaching degree and hope to be half as good as Ms. Skelly.
I graduated from school about 3 years ago, I can say it is all thanks to Mrs. Skelly. I was struggling when I transferred to Waukesha west as I had began the process of living on my own, and battling the stress of working nights and going to school in the mornings, Mrs skelly was beyond supportive. She even offered me a place to sleep if I ever needed it, she followed up with me almost daily, even though he had many more student to worry about. She was so kind and encouraging. When I was starting to fail because of the built stress going on in my personal life, Bridget Skelly always encouraged me. I am in the army now, i am very successful in what i do and am very respected amongst my peers and those above me. I always look back to the person who helped me get there. I don’t think there is ever a week that goes by that I don’t appreciate her efforts for me, without her I really don’t know where I’d be. Truly the most humble, kind, caring, and human to walk this earth. I always recall seeing her talking to students who needed someone to talk to, taking time out of her very busy day to just be there. Every teacher should look to Mrs. Skelly when they think of the type of teacher they want to be if they ever hope to make even 1% of an impact this woman has had on her students.
Mrs. Skelly truly changed my life when I was in high school. I struggled with problems at home, mental health, and problems socially at school. Mrs. Skelly never made me feel less than, which is where I felt everywhere else. She took the time to understand me, console me if needed and was always willing to accommodate to help me. Out of very few teachers who made an impact on me, Mrs. Skelly’s impact made on my life lives with me everyday. I truly am unsure if I’d be here today without her unconditional support when I was struggling everywhere else. Mrs. Skelly didn’t just do this with me, she made an effort to foster a positive environment for every student she taught - I even remember a class where she somehow got all of us (teenagers!) to sit around in a circle and open up to one another about our hardships in our personal lives, and she helped us help each other through those difficult situations/past memories. Well deserving of this award, and an absolutely incredible teacher and person.
Mrs. Skelly lights up every room she walks in - and being in her classroom was always the best part of my day! Her positive energy and willingness to get to know her students makes her one of the most memorable teachers I’ve had in my entire school career! I am so glad that not only did I get to have her as a teacher, but my little sister did too, and shares the same sentiments! Mrs. Skelly truly is one of those teachers that you never forget and are forever grateful to have been able to be taught by!
Mrs.Skelly was there for me in high school when nobody else was! She taught us to never judge someone’s story and express our feelings open and honestly
I was a student of Mrs.Skelly’s a few years ago. I always loved going to her classes because she was always so positive and made sure to get to know each of her students on a personal level. My senior year of high-school, my mom suddenly passed away and she was the first person to check in on me when I went back to school. She let me stay in her classroom on days where I was grieving a little harder, and gave me advice and support that I will forever be grateful for. She got me through some of my darkest days and I know she’s gotten others through their darkest days too. It’s been 3 years since I graduated, and her impact on my life is just as big now as it was then. This nomination is well deserved.
Ms. Skelly is more than just the greatest teacher ever! She is a great human being and the kindest of souls. She was there for me when I needed someone the most and I will never forget the impact she had on me and other classmates.
Ms. Skelly changed my life. She was the first person I opened up to about my childhood and the trauma I faced. I was the person who was always happy and friends with everyone. No one really knew the rest. I never felt like I could tell anyone and had to just keep a brave face to make the lives of others easier. I remember it was my freshman year and we were talking about crises’, we were supposed to share a crisis in our lives. I remember going to her office ours and sharing with her that I don’t think I can open up about my crisis. I have never shared with anyone. She made me feel safe. That day was the first day I talked about my childhood and how I felt. I actually ended up sharing in class, everyone did. You heard all of the things no one talks about. I felt safe and I felt heard. If it wasn’t for her I have no clue where I would be. It started a journey of healing for me. Who knows how it would have come out otherwise. Without her I don’t know where I would be. Because of that class, because of her, I repatched my relationship with my dad, I wasn’t ashamed to talk about my circumstances, I went on to help other children with divorced parents and I am now raising my own children without the burden of my own childhood but as a healed mother. Thank you Ms. Skelly. I am forever thankful for you.
Ms. Skelly has always stood out with her positive, upbeat personality and inspiring spirit. She went above and beyond to build relationships with her students to ensure they felt comfortable while at school. She sees all students for who they are and not where they come from or the mistakes they make. She truly makes you feel seen and heard and that you matter within the school but also in life. I had her as a teacher about a decade ago, but I use the things she has taught me and shown me as an educator and apply it to the educator that I am today to be able to build relationships with my students. She is so worthy of this nomination, she is a beautiful soul inside and out. ??
Bridget is my daughter and this nomination comes as no surprise to me! Ever since she was little she had a beautiful sense of empathy and compassion for everyone she met! She was loved by everyone she came in contact with. We have a big family and Bridget was one of the oldest. She became a role model for all her cousins both male and female. They looked to her for guidance and support and they knew they could trust her no matter what! These are beautiful qualities in a person and she started showing them at a young age. When Bridget decided to be a high school teacher, I wasn’t surprised, as I knew she would be perfect for that role! Well she has definitely proven that she picked the best career for her! From the beginning I loved hearing her stories about how special all her students were to her. She cares very deeply about each one of them! She shows them compassion, empathy and love! She gives them the confidence and skills they need to succeed in life! They trust her and she makes them feel safe! They are lucky to have her as a teacher but she feels just as lucky! She continues to help them in any way she can, even after they graduate! Bridget deserves this nomination and I truly hope and pray she receives it!
Ms. Skelly is a beautiful force of nature - there is an energy that is innate within her that drives her to not only do and be her best, but believes in and finds the best in ALL. Ms. Skelly embraces feedback so she can provide engaging learning opportunities for her students every day. She is honest and vulnerable but strong and resilient and models these characteristics for her students. She doesn’t expect perfection, rather wants students to try their best and if and when they fall short, she helps them get back up and believe in themselves when it seems the rest of the world may not. Ms. Skelly fights for what she believes in and is a fierce advocate for her students but greater yet, teaches them to be their own fiercest advocate.
Ms. Skelly is not only unconditionally supportive to her team and department, but works alongside others in all content areas to share and learn.
Above all, Ms. Skelly has a rare strength of heart and simply loves people - all people, all ages, all backgrounds- and teaches others to do the same.
Ms. Skelly is the definition of a role model. She is the teacher everyone wants. When I first started high school I knew Ms.Skelly would be the person I could talk to about school and even family without any judgement. She is always there for all of her students, checking in on their personal life and school life making sure everyone is doing ok. If anyone needed help to know she’s always there for them. Ms. Skelly is the type of person to drop everything to help other people in need. She is one of a kind and has an amazing personality.
There are absolutely no words that could ever accurately sum up how much Mrs. Skelly impacted me and forever changed my life. The person who influenced me the most in choosing my future career was Mrs. Skelly. I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher but it wasn’t till I took my chef foods class sophomore year that I truly knew I wanted to be a foods teacher. I had always really loved cooking and baking— and for a bit when I was younger I wanted to be a baker —and I’ve always loved the idea of being a teacher; however, I knew I didn’t want to teach a subject that I don’t like or that I find boring. It never occurred to me that I could be a food teacher, combining both passions into one. That is until I had the privilege of being in Mrs. Skelly‘s class. She was the first adult I’ve ever met in my entire life that truly loves her job and can say she loves her job. It’s evident throughout all of her actions and kind words that she offers to the students and the smile she puts on every day. It struck me so deeply that somebody could be that attached to their job and as a result, making such a great impact in this community. And for once, it got me excited about thinking about the future and excited about being in a career that I could love just as much.
I’ve always been told growing up by my friends that I should be a teacher as they say that I can explain things in a very student friendly way, and put things in different ways to connect deeper to them individually. And I’ve always known I wanted to live a life that impacts people and the person that has impacted me the most in my life is Mrs. Skelly. She offers great advice to those she sees struggling around the classroom and teaches us not only vital life skills such as cooking, but also life skills of what it means to grow up and how to process our emotions. She’s a great example of a teacher that goes beyond just the job description and truly has left a great impact on anyone who steps inside her door. And so I hope that once I become a teacher I can affect others the same way she has affected me- and that even if I learn that this isn’t the job for me I’ll spend eternity finding the job that makes me as excited as her.
Ms. Skelly was the epitome of a role model teacher. Some of my fondest memories of high school were because of her. I knew I always had a safe space to talk to her about anything, she even helped me navigate the process of deciding on which college I wanted to attend so kindly, gently, and generously. She went out of her way to help me in that monumental decision and I’m forever grateful for that. She did that not only for me, but countless other students and however that outpouring of generosity looked. She is a teacher that defined the positives of my high school experience and was one of the first real exposures to what it means to be kind to everyone in a genuine and authentic way. She is a beam of light and joy! I still refer back to her in my everyday life as first modeling kindness, sweetness, positivity, and generosity, almost ten years later. I am incredibly blessed to have had her as a teacher during such formidable years and for a teacher who was always in my corner, encouraging me to chase my dreams and being kind while doing so!
I work as a counselor with Ms Skelly and students ALWAYS want to have a “class with Skelly” because they have heard how great of a teacher she is, even if they don’t know who she is. Her impact is vast and her students always feel heard and loved. As a colleague and friend, she is always checking in on the adults in the building, too. She has a huge heart and has impacted so many students, and coworkers.
Bridget is a wonderful, bright and caring person.
Not only a great teacher, but a teacher that cares about her students.
She is a great mother and wife .
She is my niece in law and I couldn't ask for anyone better.
Awesome person
Words cannot begin to describe the type of person Mrs Skelly is. Through my high school career, Mrs Skelly has proven time and time again why so many students love and adore her. Through her never ending efforts to simply connect and understand each student, not only is she a wonderful teacher, she is a leader. She is a grand role model of who we should aspire to be, while also providing us insight as to how we can become the person we want to be and better our relationships and understanding of any subject she introduces. Above all, what really put her above other teachers is her drive to listen, understand and help students beyond their academic career. I know I can speak on behalf of many others when I say my high school experience would not have been the same if it weren’t for her, and I am so grateful to have met such a vibrant, loving and knowledgeable woman. I will forever carry each lesson she has taught me, and continue to grow into a person I know she would be proud of. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Skelly??
Ms. Skelly was truly one of a kind! She always greeted us with the biggest smile and such positive energy every morning, standing right at the door of her classroom. No matter how tired or stressed we felt, her cheerful presence instantly lifted our spirits. She made each of us feel seen and valued, taking the time to say a personal 'hello' or ask how we were doing.
Her enthusiasm for teaching was contagious, and she created an environment where learning felt fun and exciting. It was clear that she genuinely cared about her students not just about our grades but about our well-being. Having her as a teacher was a bright spot in the day, and her kindness and positivity left a lasting impact on all of us. She truly made the classroom feel like a second home.
Ms. Skelly is the most deserving of this award. She loves what she does and that shines through in how successful & engaged her students are. Ms. Skelly forms positive relationships with her students & always challenges them to do their very best. She is also an amazing co-worker who is willing to listen objectively & share advice or a laugh! She is simply the best!
“A good education can change anyone. A good teacher can change everything.”

There is much to be said about Ms. Skelly and not enough words to express my gratitude towards her. My time during high school was rough, but she was my rock, my advocate, my support system. She was there whenever it was needed, no matter the time or day. Being a teacher now makes me realize how precious, yet quick, time goes throughout the school day and how much there is to do on a teacher’s plate. If a student needs her, she would put everything that needs to get done on hold to be there for that student. Ms. Skelly is the reason I am in the teaching field. I too, hope that I can be a source of stability, an advocate, and a support system for any student that may need it, just like she was for me 10 years ago. I would not be where I am now, in a career that I love, with students I adore, teaching a subject I am passionate about, without the encouragement and guidance of her. She is a ray of sunshine, a genuine person, and a positive role model who deserves every teaching award because she truly is a life changer.
Ms. Skelly is an amazing teacher and mentor. She always has a smile on her face and came to school each day with a positive attitude. She is an incredible person and is constantly encouraging her students to be the best version of themselves. She truly cares for all of her students and is always open to talk about anything. Her classes were so much fun and I have learned many valuable lessons from her. I always felt comfortable in her classes and saw them as a safe place. She has made such a positive impact on my life and I am so thankful that I got to have her as a teacher. She is very deserving of this award!
Skelly is to this day one of my most favorite teachers & people. The way that she creates such a safe space for EVERYBODY is unmatched. She is one of those people who has the ability to leaving a lasting impact on you even if she’s only in your life for a short time. I know with certainty that there’s hundreds if not thousands of people out there that carry a little piece of her with them wherever they go?? I don’t know anyone more deserving of this award than her.
I have been in several of Ms.Skelly’s classes and they have always been my favorite. I knew the first day I walked into her class that she truly cared about every single one of her students. She always makes sure every one of her students is doing okay in and outside of her class. I have always felt comfortable going to Skelly for anything. There have been many times I have stopped in her room between classes or during a lunch or release just to see her. I love stopping by her room because she is always a positive person and can be a light in my day. Skelly also gives the best advice about everything. I have gone in during releases or lunch to tell her about relationships and friends to see what she thinks and how I should go about situations. She has helped me get through some difficult times and I have seen her help other students in the same way. My goal is always to be just like Skelly; I want to be a person anyone feels comfortable going to and a light in everyone’s life. Skelly has taught me so much about how to go through life and I hope to have the same impact on others life as she does on mine.
Ms. Skelly was my high school teacher, and she was the one teacher that I could trust and go to when I went through things in high school. She never judged me, always felt seen and listened by her. She understood a lot of other students as well and I always felt like I could talk about her about anything regardless of the topic. Seriously helped me through high school when I needed it and I know she’ll continue being there for her students.
Mrs. Skelly was there for me when I thought no one else would be. She let me stay in her room for my lunch where I would do nothing but cry. Even though she had a homeroom class, she always made sure I was okay. I don’t think i’ll ever have a teacher as good as Mrs. Skelly. Thank you for everything you do Mrs. Skelly!
I had Bridget Skelly as a life coach, a mentor, and a personal cheerleader for all four years of my high school career. As a teacher, she supported myself and countless other students in their personal growth, and lent an ear for students in their journey through the struggles of their own personal experiences. When I think of Bridget, I think of all the way she effortlessly created a safe space wherever she went, something I also aspire to do thanks to her setting the example. We worked together all four years in a student led organization called the Gender Sexuality Alliance (GSA), where she really allowed us students the creativity to be ourselves and form that safe space. She’s seen me at my best, my ugly, my stressed, and she’s seen me at my worst, and what’s important about that connection is that her expectations of what I could achieve outside of school never faltered. I don’t think I could ever give Bridget the amount credit she truly deserves, so I hope this is enough to prove that she’s had a profound impact on my life (and I think I can speak on behalf of other students) in my key developmental years and beyond.
Ms Skelly has been the most impactful person I have met. When I first walked into her class I felt scared and out of place, but by the end of our four years together in classes, she was my icon and my motivator. Skelly gave me a room to come to everyday that felt like home. A room where I learned the most valuable lessons. It was more than a classroom. She gave me a space to talk about every aspect of my life when I needed it most. When I think about what I learned in high school, the most important takeaways came from Skelly’s classroom; whether it was lesson plans, or spending lunch in her room talking about life issues. Skelly isn’t just a Family & Consumer Science Teacher, she is a mentor. She goes beyond just teaching academics, and guides and supports her students in a more personal way, that personally, I will never forget. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Ms Skelly.
Bridget is an exceptional teacher who embodies the values of inclusion and making others feel valued. Her commitment to this extends not only to her students, but also to her colleagues, friends and family. As a school counselor, I deeply admire her ability to welcome all students, adapt her teaching methods with flexibility, and go above and beyond to build meaningful connections with those she teaches. Bridget’s dedication, empathy, and unwavering support for her students make her truly deserving of this recognition. I cannot think of anyone more Fitting for this award.
I had the honor to be one of Skelly’s students years ago and her impact is long lasting. I go about my every day asking myself how to be a better person and choose kindness because of the lessons she has taught me. If it wasn’t for her, I think my time in highschool would’ve gone differently. She is a role model, a guide, a teacher, but most importantly a safe place. I think I can speak for everyone when I say, everyone knew her room was a safe place to go when in a time of need. Her compassion for her students and commitment to making them feel important is one of the most inspiring things to see. Because of her, I am on my way to becoming an educator myself and can only hope I am able to succeed in making sure my students feel the love, respect and joy I felt as a student everyday in her classroom.
As someone who has known Bridget my whole life, I can confidently say that she has changed my life for the better. Bridget is my cousin and one of my best friends. She is a core member of our family and brings a positive light to everyone’s life. She is hardworking, kind, dedicated, compassionate, and I can go on and on. She is always there when you need a helping hand, a listening ear, or a shoulder to cry on. She has helped me grow in so many ways, and I feel I am who I am because of her. She has a radiant energy and has a way of making you feel seen and heard. She truly is a life changer!
Mrs. Skelly always has a smile on her face. She never fails to brighten my mood, and only wishes the best for others. She tries her best to make people laugh in class, and will literally talk to you about anything. Mrs. Skelly never gives up hope on anyone, and always sees the best in everyone. Her energy lights up every room, and i’ve become a better person because of her.
I just wanted to say that Mrs. Skelly is a great teacher and I really appreciate how she helps other students and I do better in cooking and be more comfortable with the ingredients, And other stuff in the kitchen. I also love her energy, she is also to be fun around and I thunk she’s a really nice teacher!
She is so nice a welcoming she I definitely on my top 3 favorite teachers
Mrs. Skelly, You have this amazing gift of seeing potential in all of us, even when we can’t see it ourselves. Your encouragement, patience, and belief in our abilities have changed the way I approach learning and life in general. You’ve taught me that failure isn’t the end, but just a step toward growth. You've shown me that hard work, resilience, and a positive attitude can turn hard situations into opportunities.
Your impact goes far beyond just academics. You've taught me the importance of kindness, empathy, and self-confidence. Your passion for teaching is contagious, and it’s clear that you genuinely care about each and every one of your students not just as learners, but as people. That kind of love is rare, and I feel so lucky to have been in your class.
Mrs. Skelly is a beautiful person in & out, she’s made my transition from one state to another at a new school more welcoming and fun! She has an amazing heart & really supports her students & listens to us all.
Mrs. Skelly is a very fun, positive, and kind teacher. This year I took her Chef Foods class and I have learned a lot about her. One thing I love about Mrs. Skelly is she can brighten someone’s mood when they are feeling down. Not only that, she’s always smiling and spreading positivity. Lastly, she has a bright smile and us as students can really tell she loves being a teacher.
My teacher Mrs.Skelly is such a good person and a great teacher, before I started cooking class I hated it but now I love it because of my funny teacher. She is understanding and nice to talk to.
Mrs. Skelly is an amazing teacher who truly cares for the wellbeing of her students. One unique quality I see in her is her ability to be genuine with each and every person she meets. Her lessons have real world applications and have made a positive impact on my life and on the people I have interacted with. She is a trusted and deserving person of this award.
Mrs. Skelly has been a wonderful teacher in the two classes I have had with her. She is kind to every student and is more than just a great teacher, she is an inspiration and a mentor. She teaches in a way that’s honest and caring while impacting students beyond the classroom.
Mrs. Skelly is such an amazing teacher, and she is so positive and supporting. I took her human relationships class and it left such a positive impact on my life. I love how open she is to talk about anything, how welcoming she is, and she always made class so fun. I always look forward to her class and I can’t thank her enough for being such a good person.
Mrs. Skelly is just one of those teachers that you’ll never forget. Not only is she such an entertaining and kind person, but the classes she teaches are so so valuable. Part of why she’s so great is because she just knows how to bond with her students. It’s a special talent of hers, and she can connect on such a deep level with all of us. Thank you for always being amazing and making your students feel seen.
I want to start off by saying I literally love Ms skelly so much. I recently just moved to Waukesha last year and she has been my favorite teacher so far. I love her energy and how welcoming and warm she makes me feel. I love how she always to us and make us feel like we are apart of her family always mentioning her kids and husband. And just her family and personal life I love hearing about it. It’s getting close to the end of the semester and I started getting sad knowing I won’t have her as a teacher anymore so I altered my schedule just to take another one of her classes for next semester that’s how much I love Ms skelly. She always compliments me and it makes me so Happy. Overall Ms skelly is just the best teacher ever I’m glad I was able to meet her and enjoy her class. I wish I can take more of her classes just to see how and feel her great energy.
Mrs. Skelly is a great teacher! She is always positive and never fails to brighten up people’s days. She stands out from the rest of the teachers because she truly cares about the well-being of her students. She makes sure that we are heard and seen while we deal with the chaos of school.
Mrs. Skelly is so nice and funny! Whenever I walk into her classroom I feel like she really cares about me and her class brightens my day. She makes the lessons so fun!
Mrs.Skelly is truly a life changer who always has a positive attitude! She’s made a huge impact on my life!
Skelly is such a great teacher with a kind soul. She’s been my teacher for 4 years now and she gives so much to all her students. I’m very grateful for her and all the support she provides us. I’m so ready to leave high school but I will miss a handful of things and her as my teacher will be one of those things.
Ms. Skelly is easily the best teacher I’ve ever had
Mrs. Skelly is one of the most kind, and whole-hearted teachers I’ve ever met. She makes everybody smile by connecting with other people’s interests, she always finds a way to connect with her students and get them to come out of their comfort zone. She takes time out of her day to help a student in need. Mrs. Skelly is truly an inspiration for a lot of students at WWHS, there are a lot of people who wish they could be as passionate about baking, cooking, and helping others as much as she does. Mrs. Skelly we all love you!! You are the best teacher ever!!
Ms. Skelly has made my high school career way easier. She's like my school mom. She provides so much support and has even imprinted her unique vocabulary onto me unintentionally. She always has a positive attitude when teaching and will never turn a student away if they need someone to listen.
Mrs Skelly is another amazing teacher!! I haven’t had her for a class yet, but she leads/directs GSA with a welcoming attitude, while leaving the club to us. Being able to participate in a club like this has made so many people feel seen. Mrs Skelly deserves this award!
Mrs. Skelly, I could write a book about her impact on my life but I’ll keep it short…er than a book. Mrs. Skelly is a soul that is hard to forget. She has a radiant smile, a positive attitude, and a “let’s get serious but not too serious” way of teaching. I love her classes and everything she brings to the table is always a pleasure. I know that no matter who I am, where I come from, or even if I didn’t have her for a class she would support me no matter what, and for that I am truly grateful.
Had a fun care free non-traditional but affective way of teaching that made learning so much easier and fun. Great teacher!
Ms. Skelly was my teacher about 13 years ago and I still think about her sometimes! She taught a class about “life”, realistic scenarios, taxes, children, etc. She made it fun to talk about and fun to learn about. I remember writing journals and she would write back to us (only if we wanted her to read it). She knows how to connect to people and to students. She’s especially important for young people because as they are figuring out life and figuring out themselves- She is the person filled with confidence and trust that is easily absorbed. Being the third high school I went to, she was a nice consistency and easily one of the most memorable teachers I had. When I was in school, I wanted to be Ms. Skelly! ??
Ms. Skelly was one of the best people I met at my time at west. She was like the big sister of teachers, always proud of you, always encouraging you and always reminding you that you matter. When I went to join the military, I remember her being nothing but supportive and proud of me. I don’t remember many teachers from high school, but she was truly impactful.
Mrs. Skelly was always one of the most positive teachers I ever had and truly cared her students. Mrs. Skelly is one of the teachers that I will always remember when I think of high school, and I will never forget the kindness she showed and taught me. Her classes were not like the other courses I had taken. Her classes were very fun, as she taught us life lessons while also teaching us about cooking (I still look back at our class cookbook to this day!) There was so much laughter, joy, and lessons taught that I will continue to hold onto for a lifetime. Every time I entered her class room I felt like she would truly listen without judgement, to me and to others in my classes. In her classroom everyone was welcome, no matter who you were, and I think that truly speaks for who she is as a person. I was always a quiet student in high school, but I always felt seen and heard in her classroom. I felt like someone believed in me, even on days that I just didn’t believe in myself. Mrs. Skelly is a teacher that I will never forget, and someone who I know will continue to spread positivity throughout her lifetime.
Mrs. Skelly is a wonderful human being. She seriously leaves everything that she has going on with her life at the door to lift everyone else up. Also, being the GSA leader (when I was still in HS), she never held judgment for anybody who felt like they were different, and loved everybody the same. In a world filled with so much darkness, she shines so bright and she is a prime example of how people in this world should be. She inspires and motivates students to be respectful to all. She always made sure if that I was okay in class and sometimes, that is all you need to hear… to know/hear that someone cares.
Overall, she is a lovely human being and I believe that she deserves this title for all the lives she changes at WWHS.
I can confidently say Mrs. Skelly is the teacher that has had the biggest impact on my life. I’ve had the honor of being in multiple of Skellys classes throughout high school. She was the teacher I could go to whenever I needed a safe space during school. Skelly has taught me a handful of lifelong lessons that I will continue to use. She has helped me and so many others know our worth and gain confidence. Skelly is a big part of my high school experience being so positive. As someone who spent a lot of time in her classroom I got to see how many other students she impacted. Students would come in daily wanting to vent or ask for advice. She was a safe space for students who truly needed it. Skelly is not only the best teacher ever but she’s the best human ever. I have never met anyone as selfless, caring, and bright as her. I am forever grateful for Skelly and everything she has taught me.
Ms. Skelly was the most influential teacher I have ever had! She is one of those teachers who cares about every single student she has and cares more than just what happens in the classroom. I could always trust her as someone to depend and go to, through all the ups and downs of high school. I am now a teacher myself, and she is a huge inspiration and role model for that. She embodies “kindness is cool” and teaches all her students to love life and people. Ms. Skelly is the best teacher ever and I will remember her for the rest of my life!!
Ms. Skelly was by far my favorite teacher in high school. She was someone who I looked up to always. The support she provided her students just within her first year teaching at a new school was incredible. Students flocked to her classroom knowing she provided nothing but a safe space. High school is hard and she fostered a safe, welcoming, warm classroom where everyone knew they belonged and wouldn’t be judged by her or the other students in the class. When you were in a class with her as your teacher it felt as though it was a small family. She also had such an amazing way of teaching her students to make good decisions. She is just an incredible teacher and I will never forget the impact she made on my life and those around me!
during my junior year of high school my grandpa passed away and it put me into a dark place and i didn’t feel like going to school or really doing anything but skellys class was the reason i went to school she was always there for me and even my family in this hard time I can’t thank her enough for all she did.
Mrs. Skelly is easily one of the best teachers I have ever had. She truly cares about each and every one of her students on a personal level. Mrs. Skelly goes above and beyond to form a relationship with each student that comes through her classroom door which is so special. She works hard to instill confidence and kindness in each kid that she meets. As a student everything you could possibly want in a teacher is found in Mrs. Skelly. She was always there when I needed her and gave the best advice. There truly is nobody better than her!
Ms Skelly, one of the most important teachers in any students life who is blessed enough to have her. Not only is her classroom a birthplace of one’s self confidence but it’s a place where everyone is welcome and accepted. The lessons she teaches kids in high school, impact us well into adulthood. Skelly, you are a once in a lifetime teacher. Thank you for making each student that walks through your door feel confident, loved and valued.. especially at a pivotal time in our lives. You are so deserving of this award!
Mrs. Skelly has been such a bright part of my education in high school and has continued to positively impact my life beyond. She is someone who truly cares for everyone she meets, and will do anything to make everyone feel welcomed and supported! She never fails to make me smile and I have so many great memories from being in her classes. I wouldn’t be who I am today without her and everything she has taught me!
When I think of my time in high school, Skelly is always at the forefront of those memories. She makes every single student feel special and loved. Whether you only had her for one class or tried to fit as many of her classes into your schedule as possible, Skelly made a conscious effort to make you feel important. I have had the privilege of staying close with Skelly even after graduation. I will forever be grateful that I have her in my life. She is a safe space for everyone. She gets to know her students beyond academics but who they are as people. This is why so many students gravitate towards her. Skelly is the absolute best, I couldn’t love her more!
I was fortunate enough to have taken several of Ms. Skelly’s classes in high school. The environment was so happy and welcoming and is something I will never forget. My senior year I was in her advisory class which could not have been more perfect. Not only did she teach us huge life skills about loans and checking accounts but she truly was such a listening ear in a time of need. I was going through some really hard personal things and she made sure to check in with me every time she saw me. She would ask how things were going or she would just sit with me if I didn’t feel like talking about it. Not only that, she would also tell me about her life to make me feel less alone in some of the tough things. Ms. Skelly could not have been a more amazing teacher for me and no one deserves an award more than she does!
I have so many amazing things to say. Mrs. Skelly is truly one of a kind. She supports her students in any way possible and is always a listening ear. She inspired me to become a Family and Consumer Science teacher and I strive to be just like her every single day. She went above and beyond to make sure students understood the concepts and felt like they belonged in the classroom. She was engaging, enthusiastic, and energetic. She always greeted us with smiles and warmth. BEST. TEACHER. EVER??
Skelly is a teacher that has impacted me in more ways than one. She gave me an outlet when times were really tough. I’m forever greatful for the relationship we have. The laughs, the lessons and the memories from her class are some that I will cherish forever. ms Skelly lives the lessons she teaches and I find that to be a strong reason to why students feel so connected to her and trust her. In high school we are going through so many changes and she was a teacher that accepted students for every change. I passed along the love for Skelly down to my siblings and anyone I know who is going to west. When kids ask “what classes should I take?” I always say “Anything with Skelly”. Love ya skell
Back in 2014,I had the privilege of being in a few of Mrs. Skelly’s classes, and at the time, I had no idea just how significant an impact she would have on my life. Mrs. Skelly was more than just a teacher—she was a true force of positivity and inspiration. From the wealth of knowledge she shared (which I still carry with me today) to the way she brightened the halls with her energy and music, she made every day better for her students. Her dedication to not only educating, but uplifting and encouraging us, played such a key role in shaping our young adult years. Mrs. Skelly, you are truly amazing, and I’m forever grateful for the difference you made in my life and the lives of so many others.
Mrs. Skelly is truly an angel. There aren’t enough words to describe the impact she left on me, I take her lessons with me everywhere I go! Specifically, I remember how much she encouraged me to come out of my social shell I liked to hide in. She coaxed me out and really helped me feel more confident. I attribute so much of my personal growth to the lessons I learned from her in kindness, consideration, confidence, and especially cooking! I gained so much perspective from knowing her, and I miss seeing her daily but I remember her advice all the time so she’s never far.
she was always so nice and helpful, her human relationships was very helpful in life in general, she’s very kind and caring, nobody else deserves this award
Mrs. Skelly will always be remembered as my favorite teacher ever!! She taught lessons that went way beyond the classroom. She’s kind, compassionate, creative and a one of a kind teacher. Her door was always open and she welcomed as many teaching assistants as she could because her classes were so much better then any study hall. Majority of my memories from highschool involve Mrs Skelly and her classes. Intro to health occ, personal relations, all the food classes I could take, she is the best of the best!
I have been out of high school for quite some time, however, some of my favorite memories was in Mrs. Skelly’s class. It all started in Food Science class where we did science experiments with food. My next favorite memory was taking Mrs. Skelly’s Human Resources class. I learned more in that class about myself, friendships, family relationships, and other relationships. She showed me what it takes to be a teacher and shows that she cares for her students. I take this philosophy in my own teaching career now. Thank you Mrs. Skelly!
It's been 12 years since I had a class with Ms. Skelly at West Allis Central and I think about her all the time. Just like the anonymous nominater said, Ms. Skelly helped build my confidence as a shy, bookish senior. I showed her some photos of prom dresses after class one day and she raved about them, and pointed at the one I had liked best.
Her impact has extended beyond the classroom, as well. Her work ethic and paying off her student loans multiple years ago has been such an inspiration to me. Watching her hustle motivated me to do the same; just last Friday, I paid off my undergrad loans. There were times when I wanted to make it less of a priority, but then I'd think of Ms. Skelly and how she made it happen for herself, and I knew I could do it, too. Thank you for having such a lasting impact, and for helping teenagers see the best in the world...and in themselves.
Mrs. Skelly is the most caring, welcoming and supportive teacher ever! When I think back to high school, I think of Mrs. Skelly and her zest for life. Mrs. Skelly has taught me to always be unapologetically myself and to dream big. Skelly loves her students!
Ms. Bridget Skelly serves her students passionately with a compassionate heart. Ms. Skelly has continued to pour into her students throughout her career, providing young adolescents a safe space to grow and feel valued. Ms.Skelly meets her students right where they are at, her lessons go beyond the classroom. As a young adolescent in Ms. Shelly’s classroom, she had taught me the importance of confidence within myself and my choices. There was never a person in her class that didn’t belong, Ms. Skelly always went out of her way to make her students feel valued and known. High School can be challenging at times and Ms. Skelly gave her students someone to look up to as well as making sure they always had someone in their corner. Without a doubt Bridget Skelly has left her impact on my life as well as many other past students.
Back in high school i was a student athlete, more athlete than student. My grades were never the best. Coming into my senior year i had Foods 1 and Foods 2 first and second hour with a teacher I’ve never heard of. Mrs. Skelly aka Skelly Skellz! She hands down made my senior year enjoyable. Her classes got me through very difficult times bringing laughter, high energy and of course delicious food! I feel like we clicked right off the bat with me matching her energy most days. With her being the kind soul she is when ever she saw my grades slipping she would chat w me to see if i was okay and help me w any homework or any studying i needed. Out of the hand full of teachers who i can say touched my heart and felt like they actually cared Mrs. Skelly stands out with her kind heart and awesome personality. With me being in her very first teaching year to now i can confidently say, like me she has brightened and touched so many lives throughout the years. I’m glad she’s being acknowledged for her hard work it shows after all these years she still cares about her students! There’s no teacher more deserving.
Mrs. Skelly is by far one of the most amazing teachers I ever had a privilege of learning under. Not only is she insanely kind and considerate with every student she works with, she also has a wonderful sense of humor and is nothing short of astronomically amazing. I went through a lot during my time being her student and she helped me come out of my shell and take part in shaping me into the person I am today, almost five years out of highschool!
I have tears in my eyes as I read the nominator's comment. This write-up could not be more true about Mrs. Skelly—she is truly one in a million.
I am so thankful that we started teaching at the same time at West High School. From day one, she has inspired me to be a better teacher and a better person. Mrs. Skelly has taught me to love my job, to smile through the hard times, to laugh at my mistakes, and to not take life so seriously. She has shown me the importance of celebrating life and embracing joy in the little moments.
Every interaction I’ve had with her is a gift. Her kindness, humor, and positivity have made such a difference in my life and the lives of so many others.
I recently heard this quote, and it immediately made me think of her:
"There is a ticking clock that we cannot see, so love who loves you and enjoy your life!"
Mrs. Skelly embodies this every day, and I am endlessly grateful to know her as a close friend and colleague.
Mrs. Skelly is easily the most influential teacher I have ever had! She goes out of her way to put her students first and has the best attitude in class. She is a ray of sunshine and is able to put a smile on everyone’s face. I can confidently say Mrs. Skelly is a teacher I will never forget as she had impacted my life more than words can explain!! She still reaches out to me to this day even though I am in college and no longer a student of hers. This shows me how much she truly cares about the students she has thought throughout the years:)
Bridget Skelly was a student teacher of mine 16 yrs ago. During our time together we grew as educators. The key word is “we.” It wasn’t me or I. She is the energy and light the word needs, it was evident in all that she did. She lead with compassion, purpose and understanding. I’ve never worked with another person more deserving of the award she’s been nominated for. Please don’t pass this one up as she is a true mensch.
Out of an upwards of 50 teachers throughout my life (preschool- college), I can only count on one hand all of the teachers that have made a significant impact in my life, with Ms. Skelly being one of them. I was 16, a decade ago now, when she became my teacher and encouraged me to find my voice that other teachers had allowed to me to keep stifled for entirely too long. She supported me and stood her ground on doing so, so I could stand my own. It changed the course of my life- how I navigated school, how I spoke up for myself and others, and how I could find strength in myself. I’m not sure how the next 10 years would have gone had she not been there for me in high school. A couple of years after graduation, my best friend, Hannah, passed away. We were in Ms. Skelly’s class together and I knew that Ms. Skelly had also positively impacted Hannah’s life, which means so much more now. It was always our favorite class to look forward to (for two years until Grad. we had her as a teacher together!) and Hannah was always saying she wanted to be like her. When Hannah passed, Ms. Skelly took the time to send me a nice message even though we haven’t seen her for some years and it brought incredible comfort. This is why I believe Ms. Skelly is a fantastic nominee for Life Changer.
I was an exchange student during the year 22/23 and I had a total of 3 clases with Mrs.Skelly (human relationships, baking and chef foods). She was always kind to me from the beggining. I’ve never felt uncomfortable because of my culture or accent with her. She helped me to adapt a little bit better to the new life I had. I can say without hesitating that she is one of the most caring teachers I’ve ever had. I wish all teachers were as thoughtful as her. If someone deserves this award, it’s her, because she definitely made my life a little better and happier during my exchange year. I’m sure that if I ever go back, she’s one of the first people I would text for sure.
I switched high schools senior year. Mrs. Skelly was one of the teachers that made me feel welcome in the school. If I needed anything outside of class, she was available. She always made classes fun, interactive, and overall, a great learning environment. She put her students first and valued communication with everyone. She made us work collaboratively with a restaurant experience each semester in her cooking class. For seniors leaving the school, she was willing to discuss and answer questions about our futures. She was a teacher that could walk through all stages of high school with a student and consistently be there as the student matured and changed. Mrs. Skelly is a teacher I will always remember and value from my high school career.
Mrs. Skelly was one of the first teachers that made me feel heard, she always goes above and beyond with a big smile on her face. Shes the sweetest, most caring and bubbly teacher that I’ve ever had! I appreciate and love Mrs. Skelly for everything she’s helped me through!
I had Mrs. Skelly over 7 years ago as a teacher and will forever cherish many lessons she’s taught in the classes I took. She always went above and beyond for her students, and genuinely cared for their success and well being. I learned many things not only from her class but also from her, as she always took the time to really understand her students. Any moment I needed guidance with not just school things but also personal things, I could always count on Mrs. Skelly being there, no questions asked. Many years later I still think about and appreciate the things she’s did for me while I was a student.
Mrs.Skelly was one of the rare high school teachers that even 8 years since graduating I still look back fondly at my time in her class room. She created a class room environment where everyone of different grades and walks of life felt like they could interact with one another and felt heard and seen. Specifically there was one project where students wrote pieces of encouragement and compliments anonymously to each other and when I went to college I had about 20 pieces of paper with positive encouragement that I would look at on hard days. She is an amazing human and leaves a positive impact on kids lives. We love Mrs. Skelly.
Mrs. Skelly was one of my most memorable teachers from high school even 10 years later. Walking into her class with whatever song she decided to play and dance too in the beginning. Even that once dreaded "Friday" song. Ms. Skelly was always there for her students and offered advice whenever needed. Truly one of the best teachers I have ever had throughout my school years.
Over 10+ years ago Mrs.Skelly made the first impact on my life. As a teenager Mrs.Skelly treated everyone with love and respect. She was one of the most loved teachers at my high school. I became pregnant my senior year of high school and that’s when Mrs.Skelly really showed me how big her heart was and how much she wanted to help other people in life and not just school. We have kept in touch over the years. She has been there for me during difficult times as an adult. I volunteer to speak to her current students about proper relationships, teen parenthood, and just life struggles. Each time I visit Mrs. Skelly there are familiar faces, and old faces
of those whose life she has impacted. I’m 28 years old and I will always make time for Mrs. Skelly! Love her dearly!
Mrs. Skelly is one of those teachers you remember forever. She goes above and beyond for her students. Even now, 5 years out of highschool, she is supporting me at my new business. She believes in her students and she makes a difference.
What can I say about Mrs.Skelly? Mrs.Skelly is one of those teachers that touched your heart and left an imprint! As a teen mother she helped and guide to support me throughout all the life changes and difficulties while going through a big change in just high school! I am currently 28 years old with two children, and I talk about her and her lessons all the time! I appreciate and love you Mrs.Skelly!
