Mrs. Acker is a creative, respectful, and passionate individual. She does everything in her power to make her class a positive and safe environment for everyone. She has helped students learn many new skills in art and how to communicate with others for advice.

"There was a time when I was doing a summer walk through the school, and as I was walking into her room, she immediately greeted me and showed me her beautiful classroom. She talked to me like an equal and was so respectful to everyone exploring the space," said the nominator.

Mrs. Acker class is so great! I like that she takes the time to just live life and helps us not worry about life so much. Being in her room really feels like a brain brake. I also like how expressive she is!

Mrs. Acker is my art teacher and she makes me feel really happy to be at school because I come in her class knowing that we are going to be doing something I’ll most likely like and knowing that she will treat me nicely and actually help me with my needs.

Mrs Acker is an amazing art teacher! Her classroom is not only beautifully decorated, but the environment is too. She makes everyone, at every level, feel included! :)

Mrs. Acker is a one of a kind, sweet teacher. She is the type of teacher that goes all in and is always open to support her students whether it’s as big of a topic as struggling mental health or as (big or) small as whether a hot dog is a sandwich. (Sorry to start that again…) Mrs. Acker put the Teach in Teacher, and is such an outstanding role model.

Very good teacher, she has an open classroom mentality that allows for everyone to learn what they want to learn for their methods and what they want to explore in their art.
