"One child, one teacher, one book, and one pen can change the world." - Malala Yousafizia
This quote exemplifies Ms. Johnson because she has the power to change the world. This year marks her 30th year in the classroom. Per many of her students, she will never know the full impact she has had on their lives. She has and continues to teach her students—in her own unique way—how to be courageous and to be committed to their goals.
Recently, Ms. Johnson was named the Coolidge National Medal Of Honor Heritage Center's first BIG Impact Awardee of 2024.
"Annette Johnson has set an exceptionally high bar," said the nominator.
This makes my heart smile! ?? definitely one of the good ones!!!
She was Mrs. Cunningham when I met her, my favorite sub-teacher. I remember not being to happy when she became a full time teacher, I knew I would never have her as a substitute anymore. Mrs.Johnson was never my teacher only a substitute, all these years later, she still greets me with a huge smile & hug anytime we see one another!! She has never been a teacher of my children, however they all know who she is, that's how much of an impact she has been in my life personally.
Annette is one of the best teachers ever. She has been preparing students for middle and high school for 20+years. Many of her students are the valedictorian and salutatorian of the high schools they graduate from. Love you Annette ??

Congratulations well deserved you are awesome teacher and sister. Love ?? you
Mrs. Johnson is an amazing teacher! My son is a former student of hers. She sent him off to Middle School well prepared. Her class was tough, but her love for her students and the want to see them succeed was tougher. My son is now in 8th grade and still loves to see her. There is no one more dedicated or deserving!!
Mrs. Johnson was my 5th grade teacher in 2005, and still, through middle and high school, college, and a master's program, she is the best teacher I've ever had. I am so grateful for her guidance and care and so excited to know that she is continuing to work her magic in the Franklin County school system. Teachers like Mrs. Johnson are the sort that create inspired students, critical thinkers, lifelong learners, and goal setters. Mrs. Johnson is so very deserving of this recognition!
Mrs Johnson has had all my grandchildren in her class . Her teaching style has not changed any. She has held her students to the highest standards and they all love it! They always come back after being in middle school and say how they appreciate how she taught them each and every year
Annette is one of the most caring teachers I know. She is much deserving of this honor. She is more than a teacher to her students, they are like family to her. She meets them where they are and leads them to the next level. Each student that enters her classroom leaves more knowledgeable and more determined. Thank you Annette for showing up all these years for the students and not for a paycheck. You are truly amazing. ????
We love Mrs. Johnson, she has always been one of my favorite teachers, and now she has taught my son and I hope one day will teach my daughter, because I know she will leave a big impact on them as well! She is a blessing to the students even though they may not realize it at first. She is stern when she needs to be and loving all the time. She prepares the kids for what is to come in the future and that is so important in the world we live in! Thank you Mrs Johnson, for always showing up and showing out ! You rock!
My daughter, Elliana had the privilege of having Mrs. Johnson as her home room teacher and as her math and science teacher in 5th grade for the 2023-2024 school year. Elliana has always had a difficult time with math even though she always made good grades in math. Mrs. Johnson’s math class is not easy but Elliana learned so much from her class and did very well. Now, in her 6th grade year, Elliana is one of the top 5 performers in math in all of her 6th grade class and I know it is all because of how well Mrs. Johnson taught and prepared Elliana in her math lessons. Mrs. Johnson sincerely deserves this award and to be recognized as an exemplary teacher!
