Erin is a passionate teacher, a supportive colleague, and one of the funniest people I know. Through the 7 years that we worked together, she created a safe, creative and collegial environment for students to learn in, and she wholeheartedly invested herself in making the school a better place. She forms amazing, open, and caring relationships with students and her coworkers, and has a way of making others feel accepted and appreciated in her interactions with them.

I am SO proud that my former work-wife of 7 years, Erin Bosman, won an Excellence in Teaching award at Avalon Park. I've never met a teacher who cared more, kept it more real, and brought such a wide range of intellectual and social skills into the service of Chicago's youth!

I had the privilege of working alongside Erin, and I can say without hesitation that she is one of the most dedicated and passionate educators I’ve encountered. Erin's commitment to her students is unparalleled. She consistently went above and beyond to ensure that every student’s needs were met by employing a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles. Erin’s leadership skills were also evident through her role in running the student council, where she fostered a sense of community and responsibility among students. She also took the initiative to coordinate numerous field trips that offered invaluable learning experiences outside the classroom. Additionally, Erin’s involvement in multiple committees and her work designing curriculum for various classes demonstrated her dedication to not only the students in her care but also the broader educational environment. Above all, Erin is an unwavering advocate for her students, always striving to ensure they receive the best education possible. Her passion for teaching and her commitment to the success and well-being of her students truly set her apart.
