Shane Lasseter was nominated by his colleague, Lori Cabe.

When thinking of Coach Lasseter, the first thing that comes to mind is he is a natural-born leader. Many of his players, past, present, and future, say he is a man of integrity, dedicated, hardworking, compassionate, focused, honest, determined, trustworthy, selfless, supportive, phenomenal, fearless, and intelligent. Coach Lasseter spends his days, nights, and weekends carving the future for his players and instilling some qualities and traits often lost in this world, such as being respectful, doing the right thing even when no one is watching, and being a better person, husband, and father.

Coach Lasseter tells the students to "leave it better than you found it" and leads by example in everything he does. He will fight for any student at Heard County High School. Coach Lasseter is a former Special Education teacher who knows how to handle many different kids and situations. Coach Lasseter can get the best out of a student because he is a visionary who sees the best in all students. Whether it's providing a ride to or from school, visiting kids in the hospital, finding ways to help them earn money, or being a shoulder to cry on, he is there for these students and teachers.

"Coach Lasseter has helped me in ways that are too numerous to mention. He is my mentor, boss, colleague, and personal cheerleader, and he saved me when I was lost in the education profession, reminding me why I chose this career. Coach Lasseter knows what I need and when I need it, from a pep talk to additional work and time with the kids I love the most. He and I have a common goal: to produce excellence in every student we come across. He has changed my life and the lives of so many here in Heard County. We are fortunate to have him here on staff at HCHS," said Cabe.

Coach is one hard working man, he works with the kids everyday and that shows them love support and care. I've seen a major difference in my son in one year of being with Coach Lassiter doing football. My son has showed so much improvement not just on the field but off the failed to. You can not ask for a better caring man then Coach Lassiter keep up the good work coach we love you and can't wait to see us all back on the field next year.
