Deirdre Romero was nominated by her principal, Mark Menadier.
Mrs. Romero has been an integral part of the MCST school community for several years, serving as one of two instructors for the Academy of Global Commerce. As an academy instructor, she has a tremendous responsibility to deliver challenging and stimulating lessons that also prepare students for career paths in finance and international business. Mrs. Romero recently received nominations for the MCST Teacher of the Year from students, parents, and colleagues, indicating how well-respected she is among all groups that make up the school community.
"Mrs. Romero's meticulous planning provides the students with an optimal educational experience, specifically in two unique student experiences she oversees – engagement in the Virtual Enterprises International competition and annual DECA competitions. Due to Mrs. Romero's support, our students' teams have prospered at the local, state, and national levels, with last year's MCST VEI team winning the international championship," said Menadier. "Mrs. Romero is always willing to assist her students, often by finding time outside her regular schedule by arriving early to meet with students, opening her doors during her lunch, or staying after school."
Mrs. Romero is always optimistic, especially when students are stressed about competing at high academic levels. Students have cited Mrs. Romero's contributions to their knowledge of the content and the refinement of academic skills, but more importantly, to fostering values such as compassion, confidence, respect, and flexibility. Mrs. Romero's students have stated that she cares about her students and wants them to succeed. She is kindhearted and understanding and always has your best interest at heart. She creates excellent relationships with everyone around her, giving each person the admiration they deserve.

Mrs. Romero deserves to be LifeChanger of the Year because she has changed countless lives at MCST, including mine. I have never seen a teacher with as much passion, dedication, and knowledge as Mrs. Romero. She works overtime as both our teacher and DECA advisor, never saying no to lending a hand. She is not only there for her students educationally, but also emotionally. Mrs. Romero has helped me work through many challenges providing insightful advice and helping me become the best version of myself. You are so loved Mrs. Romero, Thank you for everything!
I have had the absolute pleasure of learning from Mrs. Romero for the last three years, and I have learned more from her than any other teacher. Mrs. Romero takes the time to connect with each of her students and makes each and every one feel important and valued. She dedicates time in and out of class to her students with her availability and response time, her management of DECA, and her frankly amazing teaching methods. I truly admire her character and she deserves this nomination to the fullest extent.
Mrs. Romero has been one of the most impactful people in my entire life. Her dedication, support, and dedication have helped me and countless other students achieve things we never even knew were possible. I am so happy to see Mrs. Romero being recognized for everything she does! She is an incredibly knowledgeable and passionate teacher who dedicates countless hours and effort to every class she teaches. Not only does she go above and beyond to address any questions or concerns from her students, often during lunch or after school, she is also an amazing DECA advisor! It is so nice to see Mrs. Romero being recognized for her dedication and hard work. As one of her colleagues, I have always held her in high regards for her willingness to do whatever was needed for the Academy to be successful. She has selflessly shared her time and knowledge with new academy teachers and has made sure her program is high quality and high value for the students. They take pride in their work and their academy. It is easy to see that they are being well prepared for the challenges of college and career, thanks to Mrs. Romero.
Mrs. Romero is an amazing educator and mentor to her students. She has made a difference in the lives of her students far beyond just teaching them in the classroom or being their DECA advisor. By her example, she inspires them to want to learn more and gives them the confidence to reach for their dreams.
Mrs. Romero is a great teacher. She spends time with kids making sure their overall development and not just the acedemics or her subject area. My son calls her 'my guru', 'my school mom', 'my reason for success at school', 'ideal teacher' and on n on. Their academy is tough and electives are college level courses which are actually useful in real jobs. As a teacher, it must be very hard to not only teach but also support the passion which is needed to learn Supply Chain related topics. Kids under her thrive, and learn to face challenges, failures and success. She is a blessing to all kids in her academy. More power to her!!
Ms. Romero puts so much of her time and effort into not only her classes but afterschool activities she manages. She is a kind and fair teacher, always answering questions and staying after school to help us study but also encouraging us to challenge ourselves. In DECA, she spends hours meeting with the board, checking over our work, and planning trips. She inspires me with her work ethic and growth mindset. She believes in all of her students which gives us the confidence to believe in ourselves. From all of her students, we truly believe she deserves this award. She is our biggest supporter and we are hers!
Mrs. Romero is the best teacher I’ve ever had. She has shown nothing but support and kindness to all her students. Learning under her has taught me a lot on how to be a good leader. She creates opportunities for her students to grow and pursue their passion and creates a collaborative environment in class. She more than deserves this nomination due to her dedication, determination, and commitment to the development of her students. I will always look forward to working and learning from her.

Mrs. Romero is an incredible educator who has made a lasting impression on my entire life. As a current student at Lehigh University, I have never felt more equipped to be successful in presentations, interviews, clubs, and lectures. I owe it all to Mrs. Romero being readily available everyday after school and investing her time into every single one of her student's successes. I am so grateful that I had such a knowledgable teacher and overall such a caring and selfless person to guide me throughout high school and beyond.
Mrs. Romero became a teacher at MCST my freshman year of high school, and I was one of her students up until graduation. From the moment I met Mrs. Romero, I knew that she was such a welcoming person! Mrs. Romero is always willing to lend a helping hand and she helped grow my passion for business. Mrs. Romero cares for career, but also her students. After graduation, I was able to reach out to Mrs. Romero and come speak to some underclassmen. I am so thankful to have been instructed by her, and I wish her all the best!!
I had Mrs. Romero as my teacher for three years and I felt she taught me not only about business, but also life. Her class was often the motivation to get me up and going to school as I knew I would learn skills that were truly important to my life such as Resume building or presenting skills.
