Mrs. Cooper is a highly accomplished educator with 16 years of experience in public education. Her diverse background includes teaching roles across grade levels, from fifth-grade self-contained classes to middle school English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science of Reading. She is certified in English as a Second Language and Dyslexia, demonstrating her commitment to supporting diverse learners. As an Instructional Specialist, Mrs. Cooper led a team of teachers, focusing on implementing best practices to improve student achievement, differentiate instruction, and create an inclusive learning environment. All this hard work has led to Mrs. Cooper being honored as "Teacher of the Year" in two different Houston school districts for her exceptional contributions to educators and students!

Mrs. Cooper is the Assistant Principal at R.P. Harris Elementary School in Houston ISD. In this role, she oversees various responsibilities, including serving as Campus Testing Coordinator, Gifted and Talented Coordinator, At-Risk Campus Contact, and Title I Campus Contact. Mrs. Cooper has also played a key role in planning school-year master schedules and elementary and middle school summer school programs and has served on the Spring Branch ISD Superintendent's Advisory Committee. Most importantly, her impact is reflected in her continued relationships with the young minds and amazing educators who have witnessed her tapping into her amazing superpower - teaching. From a random thank you letter from a former student about to start their college journey to a colleague's appreciation for a helping hand to earn a hard-fought professional achievement, her selflessness is a testament to her remarkable character. She will fight for you just as hard as she will fight for her family and has proven it time and time again.

Gina, you do so much to ensure the students success. You use a holistic approach. Providing food, hygiene products, Christmas gifts and listening with encouragement. I wish every student could experience teachers like you!

Regina is not only my Daughter, but a role model for many children over the past 16 years, I have seen Regina out of pocket buy clothes for kids who did not have clothes, shoes or underwear. I have seen her buy gifts for kids whose parents did not have the funds to buy Christmas gifts, and I have seen the smiles on kids faces when she walks into the room, because the kids know she truly cares for them and their families. Regina is truly walking in her calling, I could not be more proud of her, and all she has accomplished.

I have seen first hand Mrs Cooper use her own resources to buy students coats, shoes, and clothing for students. One Christmas, a students Mother had to have surgery and would still be in the hospital recovering on Christmas day. Mrs Cooper and her Family made sure there were gifts for their entire family! It's selfless acts like these that make her the amazing Educator she is. She is not only concerned with the Students, but their home environment as well. This excellent Vice Principal, Mrs Regina Cooper, the absolute best candidate for this award!
