Mack Vinson was nominated by ValuTeachers agent, Tracey Garnett.
"On September 26th, 2024, I had the privilege of meeting a remarkable human being, Mr. Mack Vinson, from Wheatley High School. While preparing for a presentation at the school's faculty meeting, my colleague and I were greeted by this kind, humble man who immediately offered help. Without hesitation, Mr. Mack assisted us in bringing in food and setting up the room. It was clear from the start that his heart was as big as his smile. Mr. Mack was the lucky winner of our gift card drawing during our presentation, and that's when we learned that he has been working in the school's custodian department for an incredible four years," said Garnett.
His dedication to the school is only matched by his infectious personality. Loved by students and teachers alike, Mr. Mack has become a cornerstone of the school's community, not just for his hard work but for the genuine joy he brings to everyone around him.
"Every time we've visited the school since that day, Mr. Mack greeted us with the most beautiful smile—a smile that could brighten the cloudiest days," Garnett added. "He is always ready to lend a hand, whether running around to find tape for posters or helping us rearrange tables. His enthusiasm and kindness made every visit special, and his advocacy for our efforts never goes unnoticed. When I shared my desire to nominate Mr. Mack for the Life Changer Award with Principal Cuby-King, her reaction was pure joy. She beamed with pride as she recounted stories of Mr. Mack's countless acts of kindness—bringing small gifts to brighten someone's day, offering a word of encouragement, or simply being a steady presence in the lives of students and staff. The more we observed Mr. Mack's interactions with students and staff, the clearer it became that he is an absolute gem."
His kindness, humility, and unwavering dedication have touched the lives of so many. Whether it's his small but meaningful gestures or consistently uplifting those around him, Mr. Mack exemplifies what it means to be a LifeChanger. His impact goes far beyond the school walls; he is a beacon of light and kindness, a true example of the difference one person can make in the lives of many.
Mack has been a part of our Wheatley Family for the past 4 years and adds a sense of infinite joy to all who enter our campus. Mack is quick to help and assist teachers, students, visitors, anyone who needs a helping hand. Mack has an infectious smile and sense of humor that keeps our Wheatley World functioning and running smoothly.

Mr. Mack has been critical on campus this year, and since I began three years ago working at Wheatley he has grown more helpful and effective. It’s a blessing to see him on campus interacting with the students and faculty because he does it with a genuine passion, and that is contagious. He affects the entire campus in a positive way.
Mr Mack is a great role model for our students and staff alike. Wheatley High School is a recipient of his hard work and dedication to his job in which we all benefit. Mr. Mack exemplifies a man of expectable character and humility and always willing to help others that are in need of help or assistance.

Mr. Mack is a sweetheart! He supports staff and students alike. He once donated a brand-new box of 300 pieces of cutlery to the soccer team simply because I came to him looking for ONE fork! That's just the type of man he is. I cannot think of a more deserving person for "LifeChanger of the Year."

I've worked with Mr. Mack (as we so affectionately call him) for YYEEEAAAARRRRSSSS!!! He is SO RESOURCEFUL, KIND, KNOWLEDGE ABLE!!! ALWAYS willing to help, just phenomenal and amazing!!! This is who you want others to model whether, employees, staff or students!!! When I moved to Houston, he guided on how to get my license changed, vehicle registration updated, work out all of the legalities. Even put my plates on!!! Me, total stranger. But it shows you just how BIG HIS HEART IS..... This school is TRULY BLESSED to have him on their team!!! THANK YOU AGAIN MR. MACK for being YOU!!! You are unforgettable!!!

Mr. Vinson has always been helpful to me since I have been here at Wheatley High School for the past three years. He is a good friend that listens when you need someone to talk to and is always willing to help anyone that is in need. When I first stepped foot on the campus to move into my room, it was Mr. Vinson that helped me get my gear into the building. He brought the dolly to roll my heavy items to the room and he unloaded those heavy things for me too. This shows that he is thoughtful enough to help. He remembers people during the holidays with small gifts of appreciation. He doesn't know how much that means to me to just be thought of. It's the little things that count the most in this world.
