Corey Stewart is the definition of a man who walks with integrity and exemplifies what he expects from his students. As a parent of two special needs kids, who have grown up in Mr. Stewart's care at DHS, my kids know, unequivocally, they are safe and supported if they need anything. They routinely tell me of near, if not, daily interactions with him, and how at events they feel he makes a point to make sure they are seen and included. I've lost count of the number of selfies my kids have with him. As a District employee who works with at risk students daily, I have the upmost trust Mr. Stewart will work restorative with students returning to him, as I have personally witnessed his compassion and integrity for nearly a decade. I cannot fathom a scenario in which you could find a more deserving candidate for this recognition. His heart and soul is taking care of kids, and their knowledge of his care for them is evident in their desire to be present.
