Kari Von Voigt was nominated by a student. 

"I first met Mrs. Von Voigt during my freshman year of high school when she taught me Algebra 1. She is the most driven, hardworking teacher I know—unbelievably kind, determined, helpful, intelligent, and caring. Above all, she truly cares about her students and their understanding of the material she teaches," said the student.

"One example of her dedication is how she prepares her regents classes. At the end of the year, she prints out numerous past regents exams, allowing students to complete as many as they can during their free periods. She offers a bonus for each completed exam, motivating students to study extensively while boosting their averages. This thoughtful approach provides invaluable preparation, helping students achieve high scores on the regents exam," said the student.

"Beyond being an incredible teacher, Mrs. Von Voigt has many other admirable qualities. She is a loving mother to five beautiful children, a dedicated realtor, a former coach, and more. Whether chauffeuring her children to sports practices and music lessons, assisting clients in finding their perfect home, or excelling as an educator, she seems to do it all effortlessly," said the student.

"Mrs. Von Voigt has had a profound impact on my life. Thanks to her, I understood math in a way I never thought possible, achieving over a 100 average each quarter—a testament to her exceptional teaching and my commitment to learning Algebra. Moreover, she is, without a doubt, the most caring person I know. I cannot think of anyone more deserving of the LifeChanger of the Year award," said the student.
