Justine Welch was nominated by a parent of a student, Callen Pacier.

"My daughter states that, 'She turned school around for me. She taught us that when a teacher calls you out, they are only trying to make you better. She understands the difference between bad choices and mistakes that kids make. She makes school fun, and we are all excited to learn and come to school to see her.' As a parent, I can truly say that Mrs. Welch embodies everything you could ask for in an elementary school teacher. She encourages growth through understanding and patience. She sets up special events to encourage reading. She even taught the class a dance so they could have even more fun together! Mrs. Welch has been a dedicated teacher in the Narragansett School District for almost 20 years, making a difference in so many students' lives, including my daughter's," said Pacier. "She truly is a LifeChanger!"

Mrs. Welch has a gift for making learning fun and exciting. Her positive energy, and kindness creates a warm and welcoming classroom environment. My child loves going to school every day. Thank you for being such an amazing teacher!

When my daughter walks out of class everyday she says to me “Mama I love Mrs. Welch so much”. Knowing my daughter is loved, cared for and truly listened too everyday is so comforting. God Bless You!! We love you Mrs. Welch!

Both of my kids had her each in different grades—and both times she was absolutely amazing. She truly understands kids and takes the time to learn each student’s strengths and weaknesses, working with them in a way that brings out their best. She makes learning fun and engaging! Most importantly, she communicates effectively with both students and parents. If any concerns come up, she addresses them right away with care and professionalism. Even years later, when we run into her, she still remembers both of their names and they’re always so excited to see her.
