Justine Welch was nominated by a parent of a student, Callen Pacier.

"My daughter states that, 'She turned school around for me. She taught us that when a teacher calls you out, they are only trying to make you better. She understands the difference between bad choices and mistakes that kids make. She makes school fun, and we are all excited to learn and come to school to see her.' As a parent, I can truly say that Mrs. Welch embodies everything you could ask for in an elementary school teacher. She encourages growth through understanding and patience. She sets up special events to encourage reading. She even taught the class a dance so they could have even more fun together! Mrs. Welch has been a dedicated teacher in the Narragansett School District for almost 20 years, making a difference in so many students' lives, including my daughter's," said Pacier.
