Anna Furlone, also known as "Miss Anna," was nominated by Kristin Pepp, the parent of a student.
"When my son first met Miss Anna, he was unavailable for learning. He had endured difficult academic and social experiences, which had left him disengaged and discouraged. However, from the very beginning, Miss Anna recognized his struggles and made it her mission to help him rediscover his love for learning. With her patience, kindness, and unwavering belief in his potential, she helped him break down the walls he had built. She not only nurtured his academic growth but also supported him in navigating social challenges, ultimately helping him build meaningful friendships," said Pepp.
What sets Ms. Furlone apart is her genuine dedication, not only to her craft, but to every one of her students. She goes above and beyond, creating a safe and encouraging learning environment where children feel valued, understood, and capable. In addition to her exceptional teaching abilities, Ms. Furlone is a fantastic person who consistently goes the extra mile for her students and colleagues. Her kindness, compassion, and steadfastness are evident in everything she does.
"My son is now learning, happily participating in school, and enjoying a wonderful group of friends - all of which would not have been possible without Miss Anna's tireless commitment. It is rare to encounter an educator who has such a profound impact on the lives of her students, and I am incredibly grateful," said Pepp.
