Kellyann Johnson was nominated by Duanphen Alcabes, the parent of a student.

"I am delighted to nominate Mrs. Johnson, my son's former second-grade teacher, for the LifeChanger of the Year award. My son is bright, but he used to finish tasks quickly and then become restless and disruptive. Instead of viewing this as a problem, Mrs. Johnson turned it into a gift: she encouraged him to help classmates who struggled and, in doing so, developed his empathy. Through her patience, positivity, and creativity, she helped him feel valuable and valued, which transformed his energy into leadership," said Alcabes.

"What impressed me most was how Mrs. Johnson constantly communicated challenges in a positive and supportive way. Even when addressing misbehavior, her goal was never to scold my son, but to guide and help us as parents support him, too. Because of her, my son had his best school year, both socially and academically, and even received one of the school's highest honor awards that year," said Alcabes.

"Beyond my child, Mrs. Johnson worked with many students facing their challenges. Parents often shared how she helped their children feel seen and capable, no matter the struggle. She created an inclusive classroom built on respect, encouragement, and hope, qualities that change lives well beyond the school walls. For her compassion, creativity, and lasting impact, I truly believe Mrs. Johnson is a LifeChanger in every sense," said Alcabes.
