Laura Coil was nominated anonymously.

As a first year teacher, Ms. Coil plans to create a positive classroom environment by promoting an inclusive and equitable learning experience for every student that enters the room. She wants to meet students where they are, whether that be academically, socially, or emotionally. It’s also extremely important to her to recognize their unique strengths and backgrounds. Her goal is to make every student feel valued and truly respected. Everyone comes with their own background, and it’s important to recognize that and promote differences in the classroom so everyone feels welcome. She thinks it’s also important to have fun! Getting to know the students and teaching with multiple modes of learning, all while making the lessons interactive and engaging, can not only create a positive classroom environment, but a fun and enjoyable one, too!
