Shannon Wright was nominated by his colleague, Novella McGinnis.
Coach Wright is a LifeChanger! He has been the Head Coach of the Lady Eagles (Women's Track and Field) since the fall of 2018 and the Men's Head Cross Country Coach. He has shown these ladies and men that they can be whoever they wish to be by believing in themselves, respecting themselves, and putting in the hard work. He has taken the Lady Eagles to five consecutive State Championship appearances (excluding 2020, the year of the COVID pandemic). He has had 10 young ladies win team State Championships. One won two individual State Championships, and 22 girls have gone on to school with track scholarships.
Off the field, he helps students each day who are lacking in course credits. He teaches students how to equip themselves with study skills so that they can recover the course(s) they are missing to graduate high school, get ready for college if that's their plan, and prepare themselves for the next phase of their life.
