Coach English is a dedicated educator and multi-sport coach with nearly 30 years of experience in fostering student growth, athletic achievement, and school community. Currently in his 25th year at New Egypt High School, he has become a cornerstone of the New Egypt athletics and physical education programs. He's known for his passion, leadership, and ability to inspire both in the classroom and on the field. In addition to his coaching success, he teaches Freshman and Senior Health (including CPR certification) and Physical Education. His certifications include being an American Red Cross CPR Instructor, a Teen Mental Health First Aid Instructor, a NASP (National Archery in the Schools Program) Certified Archery Instructor, and having completed EdVenture Low Ropes Training. His courses emphasize life skills, safety, teamwork, and mental wellness alongside physical development for his students.
His soccer coaching career began in 1999, and he has coached at various levels, including the Pinelands Soccer Association and Gibbsboro Middle School. He joined New Egypt High School in 2007 as an assistant coach and became Varsity Head Coach in 2020, a role he continues to hold. Under his leadership, the New Egypt Girls' Soccer team has won multiple Division Championships (2022, 2025), with his varsity record standing at 40-52-4, showing steady growth and team development.
Coach English began his wrestling career in 1995 and later served as a Varsity Assistant at Haddonfield High School before joining New Egypt High School. As Head Coach (2004-2012, 2016-present), his teams have won numerous Division Championships and a District 25 Championship in 2012. His career wrestling record is 258-187, a testament to his consistent coaching success.
Coach English began coaching softball at Gibbsboro Middle School before joining New Egypt High School as Junior Varsity Coach. He became Varsity Head Coach in 2010, leading the team to numerous Division, Sectional, and State Championships. His career record is 254-111, and he was named the 2014 NFHS New Jersey State Coach of the Year. New Egypt Softball has become a powerhouse under his leadership.
He contributed to the New Egypt Track and Field Program as a Varsity Assistant Coach from 2001 to 2003, helping athletes develop strength, conditioning, and athletic fundamentals that carried over to success across other sports. Beyond athletics, he has been deeply involved in school life and student engagement. He has served as the Fishing and Archery Club Advisor since 2013 and the Senior Class Advisor since 2014, further strengthening his impact of leadership, teamwork, and Warrior pride throughout the school community.
