Music that Describes Heather

Heather Chenel was nominated by a colleague, Dottie Trapnell.

"It is my honor to nominate Heather Chenel for the LifeChanger of the Year Award. Heather has made a truly remarkable difference in our students' lives and in the overall culture of our school. Her leadership, professionalism, and compassion have created an atmosphere where every child feels supported and included. As our ESE advocate and LEA facilitator, Heather has been instrumental in transforming our school into a fully inclusive learning environment. Through her vision and dedication, students with exceptionalities are now learning alongside their peers in general education classrooms, benefiting from a community of understanding and collaboration. She works tirelessly to ensure that students are appropriately placed and that ESE teachers are matched with the students they can best serve. Beyond her work with ESE, Heather has also revitalized our Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), ensuring that students who need extra help, even unrelated to ESE, will receive timely and effective interventions. Heather has personally struggled with her health, yet she comes to school and leads with heart and purpose each day. I admire the work she does and can say that I could not do my job without her," said Trapnell.

Mrs. Chenel and I have collaborated at Ridgeview Academy for many years. I am grateful for the dedication and hard work Mrs. Chenel has displayed. The significant impact she has on our elementary campus is undeniable, changing the lives of every "little" one. By giving her time and support, she has certainly laid the groundwork for our students to one day give back to their own community. I sincerely enjoy the opportunity to work with her; it's truly a privilege.
